I was going to say I'll pronounce it /ma'laxit/ from this day on just to annoy pronunciation Nazis, but I realized I'm on PC and never on any voice channels. Shame. Then again, on EU nobody would probably care because most of us aren't native English speakers.How many non-US citizens know who or what Spokane even is?Now, how many non-US-citizens know how to pronounce Spokane?
I'm English and I know
It's a city in the state of Washington, and it's pronounce Spoh-Kan.

If pronunciation bothers you, why are you spelling behavior wrong? Or is it just certain grammatical errors that bother you?

Silly people on this forum.....
@AtraisMachina
I think you misunderstand the environment within which you are playing.
- You are either on the EU server, in which case, 90% of the people are using English as a second language.
Or
- You are playing on the US servers, and the Americans make words up as they go along.

I agree with you 100% on this point. Except that OP wasn't "helping" or "advising" or finger pointing at anyone in particular, just making a thread about the pronunciation of "malachite" (for which I also hear the most exotic versions in TeamSpeak)
Thread title is quite out of place though, I agree on that.

+ probably the confusion with the word "motive".

In English, ch as in hunch, church, chimney, chip, [T'Jhu] can also be pronounced as [K], ache, choir, school or in this case malachite. But complexity comes from words of European/French origin, such as in charade, machine, and nonchalant [Sh]
lacking knowledge of the pronunciation of a particular word is not something that can be helped I'm afraid. Just suck it up.
Malachite is relatively an easy one. I find that folks have the hardest time with "Orichalcum." Many folks I have heard don't even try to pronounce it and just call it, "orc metal."
I love David Mitchell

He's not spelling behaviour wrong, that is the correct English spelling for behaviour, it's only American-English that spells it without the U, and as was said earlier in the thread those Americans make words up as they go alonghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om7O0MFkmpw
