Deltia's Umbra Nightblade

I'm a PS4 player with a quick question for those who know more than myself. For levels 15-25, Deltia's setup uses a one hand and shield for first weapon slot and resoration staff for second slot. He has the defensive stance ability slotted from the 1H and shield line, I was wondering would it make sense to have a bow for the primary weapon to use from range instead and rely on the class abilities once the mobs get closer? Or to have dual wield swords (for the magicka buff) to use and have flurry and/or steel tornado as an option once they get closer? He has all attribute points going into magicka and wearing light armor. i was thinking of doing like a 3:1 ratio of magicka to stamina to help the bows/swords hit harder-especially since it's one of the buffs from the new update increase bow damage.

Under the current ruleset you don't want to split your stats between Magicka and Stamina. The reason being that its your Max Magicka or Stamina that determines the damage you do with the attacks which consume that resource.

Deltia has Defensive Stance from 1H&Shield because it's a utility power. For damage dealing, as a Magicka Nightblade, you want all of your points to be in Magicka. Light armor supports that sort of build by giving your more Magicak recovery and more spell penetration.

A Bow using Nightblade is perfectly viable, but that's an entirely different sort of build than the Umbra build. For a bow wielder you want to go Stamina based and forgo building up your Magicka entirely. Ditto DW with Steel Tornado. On a Magicka build you use DW for 1 reason: Twin Blade and Blunt, the final passive, and that's just to increase your Spell Damage (yes the tool tip for it doesn't say it increased spell damage, but it does, by a noticeable amount).
