This is literally the first post in this whole thread where he is being civil. You can call me what ever you want, still won't change that fact or give me a reason to bother with someone that behaves that way.

You are a smart guy with a lot of knowledge. I can be condescending and abrupt all the time, I get it.
I am suggesting try another tact and either help out more or just letting the thread lie.

I'm not even playing my DK anymore because of the nerfs and it just doesn't feeling a good class anymore. All I've been playing since IC is Templar for healing and good ranged attacks/ranged ult and my NB due to I can go invisible. If I can get a good build for my DK then I may start playing it again but until then I'm sticking to Templar and NB.

Thank you @Armitas for the discussion. I think you are spot on in many of you points.

What is the overflow bug you discuss that occurs with the hardened armor skill?
    Rest in Peace:
    The Dragonknight
    2014-2025

This commemoration is for the class that has constantly been plundered and dismantled by designers for no obvious reason while other classes continue to have coherent skill lines and feel both powerful and cool.

It's with the damage bubble it provides. Basically if you have a damage shield, and you get hit with something that exceeds the damage shield, the remainder can hit you and ignore your mitigation. It can also crit as well. If you are a nord you still appear to get your nord mit though.

Here is a pic someone else took of it against someone in 7 heavy nirn armor.

Update - Good news about shields.

When i tested in 2.1.4 in Cyrodiil a quick strike that does 933damage on my shield was absorbed by 315 from the shield which left 618 damage due to me. I took 585 actual damage. Which is about 6% mitigation while I was in heavy armor as a nord with volatile armor up.

I tested again in 2.1.5 And I am getting full armor mitigation in cyrodiil. ( I am not getting my nord mit on the damage overflow but I think it is being used on the shield first, I'll have to test that) So barring any intermittent issue, exceptional circumstances, or player opponent requirements the overflow problem appears to be fixed as of 2.1.5. My sample size was small, about 4 or 5 tests so definitely continue to monitor it but it appears to be fixed as of 2.1.5.

Anyone who goes back and follows this thread from beginning to current might disagree with you. But it's cool being right is its own reward. I just happy, the op updated the thread with the new information so players can decide for themselves and not have to be worried about a bug ruining their character.

Btw...I never called you a name, never in all the hate I've gotten have I sunk to calling names...what are we twelve or something. At any rate, I'm officially done with this thread, I just came back to it to see if OP updated his post since he had another tester verify that the bug, if it ever existed outside pts, was fixed. I did learn a valuable lesson from all this though...."do not argue with fools, because people from a distance can't tell who is who"

Armitas, what is your build? Do you have it posted anywhere?

I'm going to wait till I get all the mats to make it before I post it, but basically I'm reaching the mitigation cap in 5 light. I'm going to use mist form and other earthen heart abilities to juggle stamina instead of igneous due to it's potential to actually make you take more damage. I was at 45% mitigation in 1.6 and with the change to light armor I can reach 50%.

I'll be interested to see that

So, what's the conclusion with shields?

    Is there still and overflow?

Am I ok to go back to using igneous shield? Want that additional stam.

I tested the overflow bug in 2.1.4, which was the time of the OP, and I was getting the overflow bug in Cyrodiil. After 2.1.5 was released I tested it again in cyrodiil and I was not getting the overflow damage bug. Because nothing has been mentioned in the patchnotes about it being fixed I am a little worried it might be intermittent or requires exceptional circumstances but at the very least we know you can get your full mitigation after the overflow in 2.1.5. Because we know that shields can occur without the bug and that if the bug does still exist it's rare enough to be avoided by the sample size I would consider it fixed until we hear of any specific cases after 2.1.5 It may seem like I'm being overly cautious in my statement but it only takes one case to prove something can happen, and many cases to prove it can't, and my sample size is fairly small (4-5x).

I was at 45% mitigation in 1.6 and with the change to light armor I can reach 50%.

I'll be interested to see that

Blood Spawn 2 piece set, Volatile armor, 75 points in the steed gives you Shield Expert which increases the Armor of equipped shields by 75%, Light Armor Focus from the CP system, Defending on your weapon, Reinforced on all pieces, 1 Heavy 1 Medium (add another heavy if you need) and nord. I'm not certain on how nord gets added in, if it's additive i'm at 49.xx% physical mitigation right now, spell mit is well over the cap numerically. If you are not a nord you may be able to supplement your lower physical mitigation with death's wind s/b instead of torugs pact.

I wanted to use vamp for several reasons, I wanted the passive 10% stamina and magicka recovery, I wanted mobility that didn't cost stamina, and I wanted the ability to regen my stamina without spamming igneous shield. It did all those things but I ultimately dropped it because I didn't like taking 25% more fire damage in PvE without getting anything in return. I'm not slotting mist for a dungeon and there are better ultimates for dps than bats. Also, embarrassingly some of my decision was based on how ugly my character looked and how much maintenance the whole feeding was.

So this is what I did instead. I put prismatics on my armor which let me go with drinks, and with tripots most of my Health and Magicka recoveries are around 2k each M/H, with stam around 1500 iirc and for mobility I'm using DK chains. DK chains is still bugging out, and it is still an annoying gamble in PvE, but when it works in PvP it is absolutely amazing and here is why
    • It can pull a bolting sorc backwards two bolts. The sorc will actually be behind you sometimes. If you miss the sorc you can ride the lightning, and just chain through the balls like pac-man because it's a spell projectile.
    • I believe it interupts casters (need more time to confirm)
    • You don't need to roll out of roots, either they come to you, or you come to them roots in all
    • If you are fighting a zerg you can at least pull some of them in your banner
So now I have no need for stamina other than break free, and roots don't matter to me. Also I think when you try to pull someone that is too high you get an invisible debuff on it that takes a while to go away. I noticed this at a keep the more I try to pull people off the balcony and get the error message the more times it fails to pull them when they are level and on the ground. In this case everything on the ground was unchainable. It worked for an hour until I tried to pull stuff that wasn't pullable and that is when it failed hardcore. It's worth slotting in PvP and it's a lot of fun, but I would still like to see the Empowering morph be a pull only version for PvE, and the Extended remain as is.
