This is exactly why, because they put it up as gold pledges. There was a reason for vCOA not being a gold pledge, because it was hard. I don't understand why vCOA and the 2 new dungeons are now gold pledges.
Remove them from pledges and the problem is solved.
Correction, the whole endgame/hardcore PvE guild I am in are all majority subbed right and/or purchased the content and have stayed subbed ever since they released it. I'm even currently subbed right now. So no, that statement is false and completely absurd to even think like that. If anything, casuals are the ones who don't subscribe or pay anything because they literally have no reason to, that is a horrible mentality you have sirThats because hardcore players are bums living in theie parents basement, while the rest of us have a proper career to build. We pay ZOS bills, we decide how the game will progress.
Maybe you need to adapt your playstylethis fight is extremely easy.
Let me ask you, how are you geared out and is your gear VR16 and at least epic quality?anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »Maybe you need to adapt your playstylethis fight is extremely easy.
I have no firm opinion on the planned mini-nerf, I personally like it since I find the planar inhibitor a little bit over the top, I understand those who'd prefer it to remain as it is, well, I understand both sides.
THAT SAID...
@Nifty2g : That (what I just quoted) is disrespectful. Most of us "normal players" (and by that I don't mean "casual" or "bad" or anything, just "normal", just not as good as you Hodor people and thelike..... ) struggle A LOT with this fight (and yes we understood the mechanics and all, it's just very hard to implement). There's nothing more annoying than someone telling you that the thing you're struggling with is actually easy.
On a side note, if it is already extremely easy, I don't see why you mind it being nerfed, because it will still be extremely easy for you.
You can argue with many things, say that difficult parts of the game provide a sense of accomplishment for those who have worked on them. You can argue that very good players deserve some content dedicated to them. I would even agree with you even though I'm not one of you "excellent" players. But don't argue it's easy. Because it's not. Not for us, not for you. That's why you're proud to make it and that's why you want it to remain so.
Let me ask you, how are you geared out and is your gear VR16 and at least epic quality?
See...as a hard core long time gamer I resent this remark in part. What really???there is normal mode for unexperienced players to do fine with it.... Finally we got something challenge and you want to nerf it? seriously. It's not about top of the player, everyone can finish vet mode, need just practice and determination but most of gen players are too lazy it seems. Anyway there are others games challenging and hard for the masses , like Dark souls, so we aren't just 5%.If most of console players are too lazy to get some challenge , nerf it just for them , and don't nerf it for pc players pls.
Hardcore players are in a vast minority, the people paying the bills for zos and any game maker in general are casuals, people that play for an hour or two every couple of evenings.
Hence the CP catch up system coming out, hence the crown store to buy upgrades etc.
Hardcore players aren't buying crowns to train a horse faster, they're not buying crowns to get purple food and drinks, or buy motifs.
Casuals are, and that's what's helping to pay for the zos staff, the servers and the future expansions.
Because, saying this content is extremely difficult and unable to beat it, there is a reason behind that because most players are still learning what gear set ups to use and are going in with *outdated* and finding out the difference between VR14 and VR16. It's a massive difference.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »Let me ask you, how are you geared out and is your gear VR16 and at least epic quality?
Not sure what it's got to do with what I was saying but I'll answer : not entirely. I'm a magicka sorc DPS and I have
- 2xNerien'eth - old version, 1xVR12 and 1xVR14
- 4x martial knowledge - VR14
- 3x willpower (arcane) - VR16
- 2x Torug - VR16
Everything is legendary except the willpower jewelry.
Because, saying this content is extremely difficult and unable to beat it, there is a reason behind that because most players are still learning what gear set ups to use and are going in with *outdated* and finding out the difference between VR14 and VR16. It's a massive difference.
Alright, you know very well that VR16 gear is incredibly powerful yes? There are plenty of crafted gear combinations right now that can outperform martial due to the fact it's VR16... this is the main reason people are complaining about the dungeons, they are undergeared and put out damage not strong enough. And it's disheartening ZOS are nerfing it a week after release not even giving a single chance for people to gear up for it.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »Because, saying this content is extremely difficult and unable to beat it, there is a reason behind that because most players are still learning what gear set ups to use and are going in with *outdated* and finding out the difference between VR14 and VR16. I agree there's quite a noticeable difference between VR16 and VR14 gear. But look in my case, there's no VR16 martial knowledge. So if I want to upgrade that gear, I have to farm the equivalent (don't remember the set's name right now) which, as far as I know, drops in.... vet WGT !!! That's where the serpent is biting its own tail...

I feel for the future of this gameI hope the developers soon decide to make the players better themselves at this game soon, I mean we are doing end game content right? And we complain theres nothing to do right? Because everything is a walk in the park. Trials take an average of 8 minutes or less to complete and trials are meant to be harder than dungeons, dungeons take longer to beat than trials lol
Another thing, this argument is VERY infuriating to have these dungeons are out and they give hardcore players a chance to do the dailies and have a crack at the hardmode versions of the dungeons which I did and spent 4 hours doing hardmode prison and I was awarded 2 gold keys for it which was very nice, I mean I got no loot but it's nice they give a special award for beating them. The Uninvited wrote: »What has that got to do with anything, do people not like a challenge? The Uninvited wrote: »Artemiisia wrote: »well u cant be surpriced that they are nerfing them, when they put it as gold key pledges this was bound to happen, remember not everybody has the time to do like 3 hours of traning, and sitting on like fire atronach boss in wgt, or flesh atro enrage in prison to get the mechanics learned.

No, people do like a challenge. The problem is that the challenge is also a gold pledge.
Casual gamers would like to be able to complete gold pledges too, but they don't have the time to train hours and hours for them and than not getting a gold key because they are not up for it yet.
If you remove the 2 dungeons from gold pledges, the nerf would not be needed. Casuals can still get a gold key with the other dungeons and you and me would still have our challenge. Meanwhile, casuals could still try the IC dungeons but the frustration wouldn't be that high after a few hours of training and not getting a gold key.
It would give them less reason to complain and a small incentive (if they really want that helmet at V16) to keep trying. If they don't need it, they could just go and do it on normal.

Also another thing you need to realise, gold pledges are just something to do, it's a time sink and majority of the gear that drops from the chests are best in slot pieces for hardcore players.

Do you even read what I am saying??? I NEVER said that something needed to be nerfed.
In fact, I do agree with you on the subject that the whole nerf is uncalled for.
I was just thinking of a possible solution to prevent the nerf, by taking these dungeons out of the gold pledges.
But apparently, you are so high-strung about the upcoming nerf that you don't even read my argument. Instead, you automatically assume that I am one of the people asking for a nerf.

Tell me, what's the point of the Silver Key pledge (which also drops monster sets)?
This goes beyond wanting a "participation" trophy. You actually want a first-place trophy.
