The Veteran Rank Grind in Update 7

Does anybody have any insight into this? I currently have 5 low veteran rank characters because I absolutely cannot stand the grind REQUIRED to gain veteran levels, and as a PvP player, there is no content available to me - PvP is currently unplayable for a low level vet. Honestly, the grind is just about game breaking. ZOS is just lucky that there currently aren't any other good games out for console, but come November, they may be in trouble. As it is, I'm considering switching to Madden.

Anyways, I am looking for some insight from PC players:
1. Is the grind any more bearable? If so, are there new, more enjoyable ways to gain XP, or is it still just grinding mobs?
2. Does VR14 battle leveling make PvP playable for low vets?

Thank you all in advance :)

its the same but even more boring, most grind spots will now have stronger mobs, like the zombies in alikir will drop some aoe upon death, they could just buff craglorn xp or something

You don't really need to grind now. Quest xp from Cadwell's Silver/Gold has been boosted, and xp required per Vet rank has been reduced. I'm fairly certain that between those two things, you could take a charachter from VR1 to VR16 just by doing silver and gold (provided you do a full clear of each zone, including all smaller quest lines, dolmens, world bosses, delves, POI's, etc.) I had a VR1 character that I put on hold until this update. So far, it looks as if he'll reach VR16 by the time he completes silver and gold. I know it's not the fastest way, but it's a whole lot more enjoyable than grinding (to me, at least).

That's the thing, you have to do it all. I'm just sticking with Caldwell's silver and gold, the main quests .. I'm the 3rd section of gold and only VR5. With that and delves and public dungeons - just not enough. Assuming you don't want to be bored stiff.

I killed v16s as my v5 nb quite easily:) Battleleveling is definately helpful there, and you can grind or just play in Imperial city and gain a vet rank a day.

I was able to get my first VR14 up to VR16 only finishing up quests and a few PD's in the gold zones on PC, and she had already started the last zone.

With the reduction of XP per rank, it's quite easy now to level a character from VR1 to VR16 only doing silver and gold content. You just have to clean the map each time before you move on.

My final VR14 character (of 4) should be up to VR16 before she finishes the last gold zone.

Point one, already made - yeah, its darn easy to level to V16 nowadays, just doing cadwells. Or doing the cyrodil dailies, which have also been XP-boosted. PvP alone is still a bit on the weak side, XP-gain though... but IC on the other hand is hefty for the XP gains, just from killing all those random mobs for TV stones...

Point two - battle levelling means veteran ranks don't mean as much as good gear, food buffs and a stock of nice potions in cyrodil. If you have that, and some PvP skillz, you can handle higher level players easily enough. I know it happens to me often... I am only a mediocre PvP-er, and some times lower levels will hand me my a... uhm... hand me a humiliating defeat, that's what I wanted to say, really! ;)
