Out of curiosity, can't you just put him on your ignore list?
Begging for money may be annoying, but it hardly constitutes scamming. Now, if he was selling something and he pulled the old switcharoo, then yeah that's scamming.
So? Harassment is harassment - it doesn't matter if you can find a way to get away from the harasser. Why should you be forced to stay away from an area where you wanted to play the game just to keep from being harassed? Sounds like reporting this player was the right thing to do, and hopefully he'll have action taken against him.

How is being forced to leave an area b/c someone is hounding you even close to an acceptable answer? Also, if the hounding is severe enough to warrant leaving in the first place, it counts as harassment and warrants a report, regardless of the player's age.Well unless you invited him to a group he can't track you through a portal.
I had to report a child today. Yes, a child. He was running around Davon's Watch begging for 2000 gold and offering "anything you want" in return. Then when I tried to open a trade to make him go away it was obvious he was trying to scam people. Pleading for them to give more money and submit it because all his stuff was in the bank.
Oh he's back. Lemme record this for ZoS...
Edit: Let me stress that he was genuinely no older than 10.
Reminds me of that fkn dog in Daggerfall that chases you around. I've reported several times, but apparently "it's part of a quest". Pssht.

You wouldn't put up with it in real life, you don't need to put up with it in a game. In fact the great illusion of gaming is referring to real life as something outside of the game, but ultimately when playing a game you are playing it in your real life. Foolish to think otherwise, time doesn't stop when you start up a game and you don't change into another person, you are still you.

What do you suggest be apart of your overhaul?
If you witness a crime in real life you call the police. If you run away who knows what the end result will be. In this case report the player so you did your civil gamer responsibility and than the rest is in someone else's hands

The removal of Area voice chat and the addition of text chat. This would lead to only having to read the area chat instead of having to listen to it or mute it constantly. It's easier to ignore something that requires you read it, it's really that simple.

You are right. Even with text chat people will find a way to irritate you. Whether you get ticked off at the slightest thing or have the patience of a saint, if its possible someone will find a way.
I block players that create mic chaos/trolls. I guess my patience level falls in the middle and blocking someone is cool. The frequency I have to block someone is once every few days. Text chat will still bring the Same issues

You know I've never felt the need to block anyone so far playing on PC. Trolling via text has significantly less effect on me versus trolling via voice. Perhaps you will get the same issues, but the effect they have on you will be reduced.

I really wish they would add text chat to consoles, so I can see the tears of joy streaming down players faces.

The new Xbox elite controller can do that.icontested wrote: »You can always plug one into the console. Some great brands out there.
I would rather get a Scuf or cinch gaming controller with electro magnetic remapping to change around the buttons that seem to be another "thing". I think the new xbox elite controller can do that.. No?
