It's a magical land that's always just out of reach. Today I'm here, tomorrow I'll be Elsweyr.

    Sorry, I had to...
But I think it's east of the AD zones. Hopefully it'll be in a future DLC.

Because it is not in the game.

It may be a zone for future expansion.

I hope it would be a zone for future expansion.

It better be a zone a for future expansion.

    Not really.
    It's not like ESo has "Tamriel Unlimited" inside of it, i mean... well, the name was one thing, but teh game is another, of course. But anyway;
It ever so happens that Elsweyr, and Black Marsh, and other parts of Skyrim or High Rock, as well as the other summerset isles, have, as of yet, not been relevant to the plot, so there's no in-game reason to implement them.
Doing so would merely be fan-service, and that's not very productive if they don't add real content to it, so (aside from black marsh's central regions, for obvious reasons) these zones may be future DLC.

It can't be accessed yet, but it probably will in the future.

Lorewise, it can't be accessed because of the Knahaten Flu. It was one of Tamriel's deadliest diseases, lasting for 43 years, from the year 2E 560 to 2E 603. It spread from Black Marsh, where it started, to southern Morrowind and across the Topal Bay to Elsweyr. The entirety of Elsweyr suffered greatly from the Flu, though the city of Senchal suffered the most. A strain of the disease crossed the channel in 2E 560 and infected most of the populace. The whole city was burned to slow down the Flu, never to be rebuilt again.

Correct. Reaper's March historically goes back and forth between who rules it, but the river in the middle of it generally marks the border between Elsweyr and Valenwood.

The Knahaten Flu is all over the southern Nibenay region (southern portions of Cyrodiil, Black Marsh, and Elsweyr), but thankfully (according to a few lorebooks I've found) it's kinda dying down at the exact time of the game, which could give us an inroad to a recovering Argonia and Elsweyr.

True, but that is like saying Skyrim is in the game because we have Eastmarch and the Rift. We just have a sliver of Elsweyr.

    I want the whole province.

In fact, one of the main reasons why the Khajiit are part of the Aldmeri Dominion is because of aid that the Altmer provided to them in fighting the Knahaten Flu during the worst years of it. So yeah, the worst of it has passed by the time of ESO, but I think it's still present.

Valenwood is the only province portrayed in its entirety. If Elsweyr isn't in the game, then almost nothing is and that's absurd. That said, I agree it's underrepresented. I'd love to see one full zone located in Elsweyr.

I'd love to see an Elsweyr zone, but given the list of future DLC revealed by trailers (Orsinium, Clockwork City, Mirkmire, Abah's Laning and Mephala's Realm), we're not going to get one (or any AD zone) until at least 2017.

If I knew nothing of ESO, but knew of TES and bought a game called "Tamriel Unlimited" and then discovered that only about 2/5 of it was accessible, I would raise an eyebrow.

I sincerely hope that 2016+ we see a more frequent release of zones. By the beginning of 2016 ESO will have been out for 2 years and we will have seen just 2 additional zones. There are like 20+ zones that could be released.

    pre-launch-map.png
By this map I would assume Tenmar is the first zone we will see in Elsweyr.

And I sincerely hope that someday ESO takes us away from Tamriel to the other lands of Nirn.
