Definitely yes. 1v1 duels always welcome and if you're in a group they can accept also making it anything from a 2v2 upwards. I don't pvp much but would still add an extra element of fun.

Can anyone imagine the likely reaction of PvPers to a request from PvEers for an additional PvE feature to be added just when a major PvE expansion is running on the PTS and about to go Live?

Now, if PvPers had endorsed PvEers requests for the PvE content of Imperial City not to be locked behind PvP, perhaps PvEers would have endorsed the idea of adding some form of dueling as a part of Orsinium.

Both communities have to work together. In my view a PvP-centred expansion should include 10% PvE content, and a PvE-centred expansion should include 10% PvP. Neither the PvP nor the PvE should impact adversely on the other, in either case. To cover both playstyles in each expansion simply makes good business sense as it maximises revenue. Dueling would be a great fit for a PvE expansion like Orsinium, but implemented in a way that does not detract from the main PvE content.

Me and my friend would love to fight each other for fun. Its hard to find a 1vs1 duel in campaigns, i only did 2, and on 1 of them, their team ended up getting to me and ALMOST ambushed me but i luckily escaped with the kill.

But most of the time in my 1vs1 opportunities, a faction member is not to far from them (or me, when i dont want help and wanna solo) and i end up dying...or my team ends up killing them and i hardly need to put effort in...

plus it will be fun to find friends to duel with and try to win...

its also good practice too, me and my friend can practice on one another or on others to become better at PvP, or even PvE since we will be able to teach each other tricks

I voted no due to being a low level and sucking badly at PvE, last thing I want is some person kicking the crap out of my toon just because they can.
I'm PvE only and cannot do cyrodiil skyshards 'cos its PvP. I'm losing out on a fair bit, methinks.

I hate competition. Now clear off!

people voting no really need a good smack to the back of their heads.

Implementing dueling wouldn't effect 90% or more of them as they probably aren't the pvp or dueling types. It's not like they would be forced to click "yes" if someone challenged them to a duel, and that having to click "No" to not duel is some horrible injustice to their rights of not dueling.

Seriously people. You need better reasons for voting no, as the 'legitimate' reasons for yes vastly outweigh them.

Yes, just because why the hell not? A large reason some PvErs refuse to enter Cyrodiil is because they lack confidence in PvP. Battling it out with a friend to help train might give them that boost to get out there and help the alliance, instead of collecting ingredients for sweet rolls, or putting out ridiculously small fires.
This is not something I would harp for continuously on the forum, but if the chance arises to vote for it, I really see no reason why not.

You know, there really was no need to be offensive.

Some who play this game do it for the MMO side of things (and I'm assuming the 'pro-duel' players are mostly people who have played many other such games, and miss that feature); some play it because it's an Elder Scrolls game. I am proud to be in the latter group. And I am entitled to enjoy my time playing just as much as you are.

There were no duels in previous ES games. I cannot think of a valid, or lore friendly reason for someone in a city to want to duel my characters - unless they somehow offend? Why would you come up to strangers and challenge them for a fight?

Plus, zone chat is already bad enough with all the lfg for keys, and wts/wtb. Add duelling requests... it gets even worse.

You do realize that there are actual quests that have you engage in duels with NPC's. I can think specifically of the small orc camp on the west side of Betnikh. The quest "Prove your worth" has you engage in friendly duels with the camp hunters. There is also a quest in Alcaire Castle that has you duel the guards. So you can't say that duels break ES lore.

Me personally, I don't support duels because the game is not built around 1v1, and I don't want dueling and 1v1 balancing taking up ZOS time when they still have other content and bug fixes that are priority.

Maybe when all that is fixed, I would support duels in a contained environments (like fighting pits, or guild halls)to prevent the harassment component that can come with this addition.

Yes, but duels to take place in arenas in capital cities of faction.
Also make it impossible to challange people who are 10 or more levels lower.
Got very boring refusing challanges from people 40 or 50 levels higher than me in WoW .

edit: there were quite a few duels in the Arena in Vivec in MW so TES lore does support it

What for? Zenimax doesn't care how wearily often we post about this stuff. If they know we want it they will make their decision and that'll be that. All we can do now is wait. Also I'd rather show support for them dropping what they're doing and fixing their damn game's major issues such as exploits, glitches, and broken mechanics not to mention those wretched random crashes.

The duel do not need to be always between people on the same faction. They also should include other factions as well. What if my friend wants to test his AD toon against mine on DC? I believe a Arena dungeon should be implemented for this. So I invite him to duel me (go to friends list, select "Invite to Duel" option and port to that arena dungeon). Same should happen with any other people on guild roster.

Not sure if only 1vs1 is enough, but I think they should give option to up to 6vs6 groups. Duel dont start or ends when list have less than required number of participants. So if doing a 4vs4 duel there should be 8 players on group. If less than 8 or a player crash (gets offline) the duel is cancelled or can´t be started.

I would want to be able to Duel just to practice Pvp. This would give me plenty of opportunity to figure out how to 1v1 against certain build's/classes.

Also testing out damage/burst rotation's would be great also.

I think these Battle's should only happen in your keep's. There is those pillar's you can use for line of sight at the front door which would be plenty of room to fight.

No, because of the way it affects players perception of game balance.

At its heart, ESO is and has always been designed to be a team-based open world pvp game.

As soon as ZOS includes 1v1 dueling, the screaming about new balance issues begins (mark my words). However, PvP balanced for 1v1 is inherently unbalanced for large scale PvP.

I am not saying ZOS has the balance correct now, but I am saying that adding 1v1 would make the job of balancing Cyrodiil harder. In fact, I believe it would make it impossible.

Completely in favour of this and can not consider the game to be complete without it.

Is it as big an issue as text chat for consoles? No, but its still something that should definitely be added.

2 buddies in same alliance cant throw down for a bit of friendly combat practice? C'mon Zos.

Then there is no reason NOT to have them. Even if someone sent you a request, you wouldn't see it, as it was auto declined.

I like 1v1 battles and I can also see the benefit for the RPers who are currently only able to RP duel with basic attacks and AOEs with this they can actually kill each other
