Veteren Helmet loot adjustment if Running with Underleveled Host

I appologize for the Vet Dungeon newbish question in advance, but only recently started doing the vet dungeons. I have no VR14 characters and our group hardly has the ability to group up for dungeon runs. So, we are still learning the finer details of the vet dungeons and loot drop differences... here goes:

Does anyone know (or have confirmed source) about whether a end-dungeon boss from vet dungeon will drop his helmet at YOUR level vs. the HOST's level?

In other words, if a VR7 character joins a group hosted by a VR2 character, to help them out, can the VR7 player still receive a helmet that benefits them at their level - or will the last boss only drop gear that is per the level of the host (VR2 in this case.)

Now, that's a case of 5 VR levels difference. Is that relevant? If the gap is further apart from the participant to the host, does it matter?

For example - Can a VR16 join a VR1 host to help out, and still get a helmet drop at VR16 despite the host being 15 VR levels away?

All gear in a dungeon first scales to the leader of the group and then to the players. So if your group is lead by a Vr7 then everyone that is over vr7 will still get vr7 stuff, BUT, if you are a vr4 in the same group then your loot will still only be vr4. There are exceptions to this where if you are all vr15 or 16 then the unique items with names but no set will still only be vr14 and the Ebon, Wormcult and Savior will also only scale to vr14
