What about allowing shields to be crit and allowing armor mitigation through shields? or some combination of any of that?Crits are out of the equasion for both sides. The caster and the attacker. If they add critcasted shields i´m fine with crits ON shields too.
I wholeheartedly agree about dots ans stacking shields.
Just patch that idiotic shieldbreaker set out of the game when you make those changes.

stamina two handers using vigor+rally(maybe it is momentum?) templar permaderpblockers who full heal left and right in a split second, DK permaderpblockers, the list goes on and on. ALL of those types of builds are hard to fight yet not many people complain about them.......everyone likes to complain about sorcs and their shields.....

Do people realize what Shield stacking for a Sorcerer is?
1. CONJURED WARD
2. ANNULMENT
That's it!
Conjured ward deals with all damage, Annulment ONLY ABSORBS MAGICAL DAMAGE and is USELESS AGAINST PHYSICAL.
Healing ward is for healing not shielding.
Sorcerers use annulment as a buffer against magical attacks and enchants damage from physical.
Without Shields a sorcerer dies. Which is what they were FORCED to do when ZoS make LIGHT ARMOR 1/4 of heavy armor.
Shield breaker PUNISHES sorcerers for being forced to use shields to survive when they were nerfed light armor with soft caps removed.
It's like punishing a templar for healing, Nightblade for stealth and a death knight for reflect.
It isn't balancing it's vindictive hatred from ZoS part. Hope someone gets fired over this design choice.
Shield stacking became a PROBLEM when ZoS make LIGHT ARMOR 1/4 weaker the heavy armor in conjunction with caps on stats being taken off you had huge amounts of damage that would tear light armor apart like wet tissues.
Shields stacking was then bandaid to fix a mess so Sorcerers could survive. Because investing in health was utterly pointless and magicka increased the power of spells everyone went shield stacking to survive.
Until they decide to properly fix magicka sorcerers survivability your just going to see them with shields like the S.S Enterprise. Shieldbreaker was made to punish those forced into using shield stacking to survive because Light armor was made to wear nothing
No proper self healing also made it hard, as sorcerer are burst set up related and can't really lay down proper sustained damage in PvP for Surge to mean something.
So far there is a build Toxic Tornado Sorcerer, which is stamina based that would make them incredible powerful without shields. But really, rolling a sorcerer just to wield melee abilities and deal physical damage? That's redundant.

Agree pretty much.
I think they problem they made is the shield/block mitgation vs armour mitigation ratio.
Passive armour mitigation should have been much higher and block/shield mitigation much lower across the board.
At the moment and historically any armour was useless.....so rather than improve armour (light armour buff noted) effectiveness and reduce ward/block effectiveness....they nerfed blocking and mitigation everywhere.
Lets just admit everyone until now was just holding block or stacking shields because armour was useless.
Rather than fix that imbalance...ZOS has just tried to stop people from using block or shield stacking when there was never a choice not to.
How long until they use no regen when shield stacking ?
The magicka builds would be straight out with the torches and pitchforks.
The thing is, for the price of a shield you are getting inmunity to crits & dots.
And people then saying: "equip shield breaker set".... Instead of using a more general purpose set you are gimped in gearing towards a very particular mechanic, rending yourself useless for general purposes.

Amen. 100% agree with @Master_Kas. As I wrote in many shieldbreaker Qq posts, just slot finally heal my sorc friends, hardened + illustrious healing and mutagen are more than enough to counter this set.. Som1 wrote here healing ward is considered as heal spell for sorcs haahah, my dear actualy its the strongest shield ingame.. Stop spamming shields like crazy and finally use ur brain.. If u cant adjust to current state.. Srry u are/were just bad sorc..
