Hi

I am currently in rank 12-13 with my crafting styles and i am reseaching trait like hell...
Atm i am lvl 37 and can craft up to lvl 34 gear..and i can see there are some amour sets around the world that can be craftet different places.
But is it worth to waste these traits stones and the upgrade materials to craft lvl 34 set gear..or should i wait with the whole crafting set until i get high end lvl ?

Its not like these upgrade materials is raining down from the sky.

any advise please

You'll get more mats from refining if you put points into extraction. Not worth improving armor above green until you are at or near level 50. Use blue and purple tempers at vet levels. Save the gold until you are at max level-it does not give that much extra, is fairly rare, expensive to buy and takes a lot to improve a complete set. Keep researching.....try to never have an empty slot. I wouldn't worry much about trait stones. Only nirnhone is rare. You should get a good supply of the others through refining and deconstruction. A word of advice for crafting materials...save only what you will frequently use. For example, most do not use Sturdy trait, so don't save quartz. Same for racial stones. If you only ever make a few styles, save only those stones. Otherwise inventory management is a real pain.

Btw i think i missunderstand something..these items with traits i reseach..its just to get the trait stones of the current item i reseach right ?

I was thinking it was to unlock the trait on the craft list...but if i use 2 reseached trait stones to make an item ect heavy armour helm from my reseach..then i must reseach an heavy armour helm again if i wish to make more helms with same traits right ? if u follow me

Traits 101. Traits have 2 purposes. The first is to apply any trait to a crafted item, you must first research it. Research requires an item with the trait you desire to be sacrificed to unlock the trait for that item. (I assume you know this, but you know, 101 :) ). Once unlocked, you can apply that trait to a crafted item by selecting the appropriate trait stone in the bottom row of crafting screen, 1 stone per item crafted. Every item has, currently, nine traits that can be researched.

The 2nd purpose of traits is to unlock special crafting stations. These are scattered throughout Tamriel. In order to craft items from the various sets, you must meet the trait requirements. Some sets require on 2 or 3 traits before you can craft that set. Other sets require 6 or 8 traits per item. The most commonly used crafted sets are the 6 trait sets. Hope this answers your questions.

Sort of...If i reseach sturdy trait on a cloth chest armor, then i get the trait stone sturdy and i can see it has been reseached on the list of traits available to reseach .

If i then use this sturdy trait stone to craft a new cloth chest armour set. Then i loose the trait stone and most reseach another cloth cheat armour with sturdy trait again if i wish to make another cloth set using sturdy right ?

If you recearch something you do not get the traitstone for it.
You get the ability to craft a new pieces with this trait,
If you found the traitstone during decon/grind/looting.

*If you finish research light armor hands with sturdy trait, you will always be able to craft light armor hands with sturdy trait.

*In the prossess of research you will loose the item that you have put for research - it will be deconstructed by the game.

*You will have to get a new trait stone and materials if you want to make more pieces.

*You only have to research an item 1 time, and then you can always craft that trait.

*If you unlock many traits on a specific item, you can craft the item in many special crafting stations that give you set-bonus.

Just wanted to add that if you research sturdy on light armor chest, you will not be able to craft sturdy light armor breeches. Thus, you will need to research the sturdy trait for each armor piece. However, once researched, you will be able to craft as many sturdy light armor chest pieces as you have trait stones (quartz).

Trait stones come from refining raw materials, deconstructing gear, and from equipment hirelings.
