When will NB cloak get the bolt escape treatment?

2 abilities can destroy cloaks invisibility
    -AoE ability (just keep spamming).
-Mageligh morph(I don't remember the name).

So, please stop winning for a nerf.

    Radiant Magelight.

And this has absolutely nothing to do with having more experience with, and a better understanding of, the game than you had when you rolled up and built your sorcerer.

Because, holy crap, if your sorc is coming in behind your nightblade, you've done something very wrong with your sorcerer's build.

Lol, are you a Nightblade as a primary? I'm just wondering.

lol Oooooh Okaaayyyyy. Here's a simple test for you. Take a NB and using only class skills jump into a pool of lava and see how long you can survive. With a sorc? Pretty much indefinitely just keep recasting hardened ward.

I've got both NBs and Sorcs at vet. If you honestly think the NB outperforms the Sorc for DPS or survivability, you really need to go back and reevaluate your class. I've waxed VR14s on level 40, heavy armor sorc build. I can solo group content on them trivially. I can do some of that on a Nightblade by abusing Rally, but I need to work for it.

When people are telling you, "l2p" it's not because you don't know how to deal with nightblades, it might just be because you don't know how to play a sorc yet.

List of things to use to *** up nightblades when they cloak (if they do that, you already won, it is usually the skill they rely on for either escape or a new attempt to outburst you)

    1. Radiant Magelight
    2. Detection Pots
    3. Steel Tornado
    4. Impulse
    5. Caltrops
    6. Curse
    7. Mines ( the sorc' ones or the volcanic rune on likely escape routes - IC mostly )
    8. ScatterShot Catapults
    9. Talons
    ...
    should i continue ?

    Encase. Nobody expects Encase.

Also, bonus points for Inhale and Negate Magic.

The Mines are a little iffier because Teleport Strike/Ambush/Lotus Fan won't trigger them, if they port over.

Well there's about a dozen hard counters to cloak if anyone in this thread still has trouble then it's certainly a L2P issue or more so a refuse to L2P issue.

I'm loving how just the same few players keep bouncing between NERF NBs threads, like no one is seeing it.

Been said more times than anyone wants to keep track of. Nerfs by ZOS have been implemented to Cloak already to the extent that it will be. Learn to deal and become great, or don't and cry about it.

    This ^
There are a variety of counters to cloak and like others have said it is still not even close to %100 reliable. Definitely not the same as BE.

More a refusal issue, really. I mean, they'll come on here, cry about how they got mauled by an incredibly fragile skill that does no damage, provides no mitigation, and consumes magicka like there's no tomorrow, and only allows the NB to leave, and maybe purge their DoTs. If it doesn't purge their DoTs you can flat out break it with Entropy. You know that terrible Mages' Guild power? Yeah, that will break Shadowy Disguise, so it can't be used at all. But, no, they don't want to think outside the box, or even slot radiant magelight. Then they refuse to actually try to kill the Nightblade, because... what? Why not? Try it sometime, you'll realize they're made out of tissue paper.

That part alone is enough. Just a player who actually knows how to play their class, whichever class that may be. Vampire NBs are nice, though. :D

If people hadn't cried about bolt, blocking, and wings, then maybe, but since whining on the forum is the strongest counter play to any play style, then that is what people are going to do.

    Didn't cloak just get fixed/buffed?

I wouldn't expect a change anytime soon until they get enough time and data to make change. If a night blade cloaks you or someone in your group.

    1 use a detect potion
2 nightblade in your group can mark said nightblade
3 cast any skill from any skill line that does AOE damage in the last known area

The only adjustment I've seen offer that makes any real sense is to kill magica regen and outside heals while in cloak similar to mist form.

As far as comparing cloak to bolt escape outside of them both being escape skills is just well, not a reasonable comparison.

I'll just say, when DK's could completely negate single target ranged skills by spamming scales they told everyone l2p, change your build to include aoe's and melee. When sorc's used bolt to escape from combat in a clear line that could be followed they said use speed buffs and gap closers. Now its the NB's turn, we'll see how this goes.

Buff cloak to sprint me halfway across the board while cloaked. Now there's a decent idea

Fixed. Used to be it wouldn't apply if you had a DoT in effect, even though one of the morphs is supposed to cleanse DoTs.

I think it's rather simplistic to suggest that dark cloak is is comparable to BoL or scales you can completely negate cloak with a number of diverse abilities and even potions that wasn't the case with scales of BoL. That is a fact, what is my opinion is that we should wait a few weeks to see what happens with The cloak fix. If it's is op then maybe they look at adding more options to detect or negate cloak.

I just wish my NB was as OP as some people in the forums seem to claim nightblades to be... then maybe I wouldn't fail hard at backstabbing people three out of four times... (yes, my sneak attacks are successful 25% of the time on average. The other 75% of the times, they recover, and destroy me... cloak is nice when it works, but ususlly its not enough to help me win the day...)
But then, perhaps I just am too mediocre in PvP... -shrugs- Not crying "nerf the sorcs" after getting streaked to death and during the whole darn fight never ever getting through their shileds to their health bar... not crying "nerf the dragonknights" after being flash-lashed and talon-rooted through standard-territory into respawn land... not crying "nerf the templars" when I expire in blasts of yellow light, and flurries of yellow stabs while they heal themselves like my attacks were nothing... I just bow my head, and take my kills in the last 25%. Which, funnily enough, more often then not are enemy nightblades...

Nerf cloak? I don't think so...

People will remember the sorc that ran for the hills that they sprinted after despite having to scoot around a pile of other players of all classes they just killed. Now that bolt was nerfed, again, the wheel turns to the next class, and no amount of cloaking will hide you from their gaze.

Why nerf NB cloak? Give magelight a 28m detection radius - instead of the ridiculous, and often ineffective, 12m - and things will be balanced again.

If they don't nerf cloak they should make it so charge abilities don't stop your movement for a second
