So many people use bow as a secondary, but is bow viable as a main?

I'm a stam sorcerer, fairly new to end game. Stam sorcs have to use a lot of weapon line skills, and I've been really struggling to find my place. I've gone from 2h to DW back to 2h and now I'm 1h/s heavy armor. When I was 2h, I had bow as my secondary and I actually ended up using it more, at least in pve and questing.
Is that viable in pvp? I think sorcs fit it well due to mobility and crit surge liberating us from needing to use rally (tho i might still use 2h for execute). I'm thinking of going main bow/offhand 1h and shield so I can stun anyone who charges me.... but I'm looking for opinions from more experienced people.
