I was just looking at the stat difference between v14 and v16. I think some still value the master bow as a support buff. Are healers and tanks using master restos and swords?
Yea the Master restoration staff is the best master weapon and the master sword is the base of an entire build. Master weapons will remain very strong, some of them at least.
Master destruction staves are worse than V16 weapons damage wise.
Auri-El is my lord,
Trinimac is my shield,
Magnus is my mind.
I think the Master 2H is dead too. Even for someone like me that does a lot of cleaving. If the damage bonus only equals that of a v16 crafted piece, then I can still make that v16 a set piece or an agility. The master bow is ok if you are ok with switching your main bar back and forth between aoe and single target. Personally, I like one bar for aoe and one for single.
I was the ability wasn't cleave but executioner or wrecking blow [Insert OMG NO WRECKING BLOW] here.
I'd prefer executioner because well it would be extremely awesome at killing low health'd enemies.

The only master weapon that is not dead *stat wise* is the Master's Bow. It's enchant is strong enough to make up for the gap of the damage loss between v14 gold and v16 gold bows, as well as the stamina boost it gives to put it ahead of a v16 bow. Bow build's BiS is literally unchanged from 1.4, 5 piece Hawk Eye, 5 piece Morag Tong, and a Master's Bow. The only thing they can hope for is that Morag/Hawk is obtainable as v16 from Rewards of the Worthy.
The Master's Greatsword loses because it only has bonus weapon damage (since most decent dps builds don't use cleave), which is slightly less than the gap of v14 legendary and v16 legendary, on top of the fact that you can put an enchant on a v16 greatsword.
As for bonuses, the Master's Sword and Master's Restoration Staff are still plausible in niche builds, seeing that they provide unique bonuses that arbitrary stats can't compared to.

Well as far as I know, non-templar healers are going to be using the master restoration staff - as it is the only way they can provide stamina to the team and the tank.
I'm templar healer, and I am considering to use my master resto staff, because everyone cries for stamina - and I guess spear shards + repentance is not enough for most.
- the trait is weighted *shrugs*
All my master weapons, except Inferno staff and 2h sword are collecting dust in my bank/alts. Once i get my toons geared up with v16 stuff, the staff and 2h will join the others.
