Guild bank scam

Eattangolot
i recently deposited 2,000,000 gold into a guild bank. In which the GM withdrew and kicked me from guild. Now i submitted a ticket about this problem and was told that this was completely acceptable. Noticing there is no double security in which you can see what guild you are donating to i believe that there sould be one in place so this does not happen again.

Damn I've never even seen 200k nevermind 2 million so that must of really annoyed you.

On topic you're right I've personally deposited items into a guild bank by mistake and due to not having permissions and no message to confirm the drop into guild X i have lost some great gear/materials.

Its the newest Unpunishable scam tactic. I submitted a ticket about my issue and they told me that there is nothing that they can do. they cannot interfere with any guild politics. it would be one thing if it was 200k. but 2 million is a little ridiculous to get away with if you think about it.
in World of Warcraft I accidentally deleted my account and they were able to restore my account plus all my items. the game masters have the power to do anything they can.
why do they not have the power to restore what was taken, I understand I "Donated" the gold. but with the Xbox loading screen glitching out and no confirm to which guild I am donating to I believe this is unfair. it is up to the game creators to fix this problem and not take it out on players who accidentally donate there game earnings to lose it all in seconds.
if the guild master only has the gold set to his pocket does this make it alright for one person to take.?

Yeah you REALLY have to be careful of the guilds that don't allow you to withdraw, but allow you to deposit. I triple check what guild is loaded onto my screen before I do anything.

I have tryed. I've been told that he has done nothing wrong. that this is completely fine to do and they cannot refund my gold. Elder Scrolls help team can not interfere with any guild politics.
but when someone gets scammed via trade screen that's completely fine.
when you accidently deposit 2 million gold because of their broken deposit gold screen too bad you can never get your gold back. and then the guild master walks away scott free.

Wow I'm really sorry about your loss, 2million is a lot of gold.

But how come you didn't know which guildbank you were in, when you donated the amount? On PC you talk to a banker, choose the option of guildbank - the guildbank of your first guild will load first but you can from there choose to change to the other guilds guildbanks by an option.

Just to be clear, you were trying to deposit to a different guild, and the UI messed up? You probably should have lead with that.

Like in life, you are wary of deals to good to be true. I always try to judge the level of authenticity of a guild that does "raffles" when I'm determining if I'm dven going to stay in it. As far as donations I like to do the same.

Making a mistake of that nature, that's life. I fee your pain but I think good karma is heading your way. :)

At this point I don't even care about the gold. I want the game makers to fix this problem as in cod it should say are you sure you want to deposit X amount of gold to guild X. are you sure you want to deposit X item to X guild bank.
I was supposed to start my own guild with that money. now up s**** Creek with no paddle.
and the biggest flaw is this form of scamming is completely acceptable.

Seriously, were you trying to add the gold to a different guild, and the UI bugged out? If so, that is what you need to say in the support ticket. Not, "oh god, I got scammed by a bad man." Getting scammed this way they will not help you with. The UI bugging out? That they probably will.

It doesnt sound like a scam at all.. were you told by the guild master to deposit 2 Mil into the bank for some purpose? or did you do it on your own? the only way it would be a scam would be if you were told to deposit the money for a service or something. To me it sounds like you accidentally deposited money into the wrong bank, and now you want CS so fix your mistake. Now I agree that something should be done to get your money back. but to call it a scam is incorrect.. By definition a scam is "a dishonest way to make money by deceiving people." it sounds like there was no deception at all by anyone, but more of a mistake on your part..

Charging for a WW or vamp bite and then running away with the money and not giving the bite, that is a scam.. taking it upon your self, to deposit 2 mil gold into a bank, and not paying attention to which bank you are depositing into, sounds more like "OH SH!T I messed up and i've lost all my money.. Someone fix my mess up please!!"

I agree with you completely. but when you ask for the money back and the guildmasters response is to kick you from the guild then withdraw your money. Now I don't know what the word for that act would be called but it is unsportsmanlike.

Yes Indeed.. I agree that was very unsportsmanlike of the guild leader to do that.. But please dont get upset at ZOS because they arent doing anything about your lost gold, and call it an acceptable form of scamming. It has nothing to do with scamming, simply bad luck. I once bought a 175K necklace for a guildie when we was online, went to send it to him in mail, and accidentally equipped it. My response from ZoS about "could they possibly unbind it, because if they look at the character who it is on, that character has no use for said necklace because it's a stam build and a magicka necklace" was simply "we cant do that, it was a mistake by you, not something that went wrong with their game system. and to be more careful next time with BOE gear. <shrug> nothing they can do about it.. my loss and I accepted it and replaced the item

Honestly, you should take a little personal responsibility. If you're depositing a large amount of gold to a guild bank you should be careful and make sure that you're actually depositing the amount you mean to deposit, and that you're depositing it to the right guild. This isn't ZOS's fault in any way shape or form. You screwed up, pure and simple. From a moral standpoint the GM should have given the gold back to you, but he had no obligation to do so. This one is entirely on you.

How is this considered a 'scam'?

A scam is something planned with devious intent. The guildmaster is simply an opportunist. Was it a *** move keeping the money? Yeah but not something he should get in trouble for.

You can't expect ZOS to hold your hand on every single thing you decide to do in the game. The COD confirm is there because it's something that's really easy to miss without the confirmation. You can only deposit to a guild bank deliberately. If you didn't check which guild you were set to, that's your fault. There are already more hand-holding "are you sure?" confirmations in the game than there should be.

Sorry to hear you lost your gold but this isn't a scam.

You willingly deposited your gold in a guild bank and so as soon as you did that it is no longer your gold and it belongs to the guild (and by extension the guild leader) to do with whatever they want. If they want to kick you and use the gold then they can do that, it's totally fine.

The lesson to learn here is that you should never put anything in a guild bank that you are not willing to lose.

This was not a scam but instead a d**k move by a rather shady guildmaster. As has been said pick your guilds more carefully and don't be so willing to donate such a massive amount to just any guild. On the bright side though you now know you cannot trust that player and he or she is now your enemy. You can also spread the word about them. Not the first time I've been hearing of some shady guilds...

Please keep in mind that the guild UI is extremely laggy. Sometimes it takes forever to switch from one bank to another and it becomes impossible to know where you are when you deposit something.
Deposit mistakes happen all the time.

I nearly got banned for saying "I stole 100k from a guild bank lol" as a joke, as the "lol" clearly states. All my comments seem to get banned, I bet this one does. Anyway, if ZOS don't want to give the money back just simply don't play the game, soon zenimax will realise maybe they will have to start looking at our tickets and suggestions. Lots of people get werewolf scammed as well but zos ignore it. The best thing you can do is stay away from these guilds and only join your friend's guilds.

No, sometimes it takes forever for the items in the guild bank to show up. The switching happens immediately, so you can always tell what guild's bank you're depositing to.

Is not a scam, its a mistake that you made. Why the guild won't give you your gold back is beyond me? Most of the guilds I see are legit and are run by honest players.

I also have made the same mistakes as you but with items instead of gold.

The other issue may be that there is no transaction log that the guild leader can refer to, so he or she can't determine who deposited the gold; correct me if I'm wrong on this.

So here are my suggestions to the developers:

    1) Like I previously posted in about the skill resets in that once you make all your transactions you should have options to submit or abort the transaction with the name of the bank, guild, or merchant included.

    2) All transactions with a guild store or bank should be recorded and be available to the administrator of the store or bank. The transaction should at a minimum include the player's name, item sold or stored, and amount or cost of the item.

I be pissed too if I lost 2 million gold, it takes me two months of farming to make a million gold.

If you wanted to start your own guild with that gold, why on earth were you trying to deposit it into any bank but your own?

You have to pick "guild bank" instead of your own personal bank, so annoying double check messages wouldn't have helped. It isn't a scam. If I don't have the right to withdraw items from the bank, I don't deposit things in the bank. I also don't belong to guilds that force you to deposit or pay anything.
