Which dual wield weapons/traits for magicka users?

Whats the general consensus on the best dual wield combination to go for to ramp up damage without actually using any of the DW abilities? I'm going to use DW on my main bar on my templar.

Also, what traits should I put on the chosen weapons? (Excluding nirnhoned as I don't have it)

Thanks!

Not very helpful! I barely use my destro staff on my main bar, but always use the class abilities, so I figured why not try it out. My back bar is resto anyway!

My best guess is sharpened, precise or nirnhoned. I haven't done the math myself but I'm also interested in knowing what might be best. Swords or daggers, sharp, precise, nirn or some other trait maybe? Some of that is going to be situational and really hard to know with the information we have provided to us. How do I know what spell resistance any given mob has compared to its armor value? I'd have to sit down and do some testing, but surely someone else has done that already and has some answers.

Trait-Precise. Increases weapon and spell crit. I think the only passive you need is the last one with two swords equipped but not 100% I know it increases your dmg even though it says duel wield skills only it applies to spells. If you have nirnhoned it's better but if not precise works fine.

What's your opinion on sharpened vs precise? Obviously nirnhoned beats sharpened but I'm looking at the new 3 pc set bonus weapons and there isn't a nirn version available so it comes down to precise or sharp if I get the set that way.

Does sharpened apply to spells? If so yeah go sharpened

In 2.1.4, you should consider using a 2H if you are going for pure damage if you have high Magicka and/or spell damage from gear. I explained this in detail in http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/212729/two-handed-or-dual-wield-for-magicka-builds#latest

With regards to traits a generic calculation seems that nirnhoned surpasses precise in cases of the target's spell resistance being high. Further details can be found at http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/209938/pts-2-1-2-sorcerer-arithmagic/p1

The equations on the second link should provide sufficient information for you to decide between sets and also allow you to begin testing the spell resistance of your favourite bosses based on the damage equation derived.
