Grinding in the Imperial City is worth every second

The reward for grinding in the city is worth the effort.
I was pretty annoyed when I've learned, that we need 120 Materials to craft 1 piece of V16 gear and that Imperial City is all about grinding. BUT this grind is 1. extremely entertaining for me, I really enjoy it and 2. it's worth it.
The difference between V14 and v16 gear is huge and that's what justifies the effort to get V16 gear
At first it might look rather small. Like 200 damage difference between a golden V14 and a golden V16 staff. Keep in mind, that this 200 damage applies to each attack you do, so it stacks really really fast. And this is without buffs, because everything stacks. A simple spell damage buff alone lets my Crystal Shard deal 400 more damage than with my V14 buffed staff. Fully buffed, my Shard deals over 600 damage more with a buffed V16 staff than with a V14 staff. And again: This adds up with every light attack I do, every spell I cast. So 600 damage difference on 1 hit adds up to 6000 damage difference after a few seconds and and and. Also important to mention, is that V16 gear can hold the strongest enchants in the game.
So folks, don't get annoyed Gathering materials is worth the effort you put into it, because V16 gear IS really really strong and come on 
holding your brand new V16 gear in your hand becomes a bigger victory if you remember, how much effort you had to put into getting it.

✭✭✭Funny enough is that from what I have seen grinding old dungeons on Normal scaled to V16 with a good group may be a much faster grind for crappy mats to craft Magnus sets.

✭The grinding value is insane and meant to keep endgame players engaged for a longer length of time.
The fact you find they made a grind you find enjoyable after what a week plus few days is good for the Devs and good for you.
Does the fact you find the content enjoyable have any bearing on the drops, drops rates, and insane material requirements only meant to keep you playing longer and the rich richer. No those two things don't necessarlily corolate.
But again congrats on your enjoyment factor.
VR 14 TP staff plus 126 Spell Damage
VR 16 M staff plus 123 Spell Damage, Whaaaaaaatttttt?

Pirhana7_ESO✭✭✭✭✭To add onto what the Op said. grinding is a completely different game when you gathering a very needed currency and having to watch your back from enemy players and even knowing when to attack and take advantage of an enemy player when teh situation happens. You must know your risk and reward.
This is the mixed PVP and PVE alot of us have been waiting for and is anything but boring.1 -

The difference is it wont be in a zone where enemy players can attack you, it will basically be boring and just like most other grinds.
having to watch your back in IC and know your risk and rewards actually makes the IC grind exciting and something we have been waiting for.0 -

1. Week after week, the IC grind became extremely tedious for me.this grind is 1. extremely entertaining for me, I really enjoy it and 2. it's worth it.
2. I really hate being ganked regularly in IC.
3. The new mat grinding has killed crafting completely.
With these results, the IC was the WORST DLC I have bought this year
(not to speak of the terrible IC PVP with no objectives and only mindless zerging).
Either Orsinium will fix mat gathering for crafters, or I will return to games where my precious playing time is not wasted with mandatory grinding.

well i meant in group with banners lol
i will for sure do districts dailies once we can do all of them at once in orsinium
but also i forgot to add finding a group for roaming horrors, those fights are pretty awesome, especially the temple district bosses
