Reading and raging on the forum is an integral part of the ESO experience.
And I am beginning to suspect that this is working as designed...

its a double edge sword cause looking at the forum help answer issues & such but when your looking for updates on patch & the limited reply from Devs it really can be a nightmare

This forum does not bother me. I look to this place for help and yes you do get the odd person telling you to sod off and do it yourself and some folks are darned nice. I'm here mainly to see if ZOS are improving the game and not nerfing it to death.

No, because in my opinion true negativity has to originate in game before it can be expressed on the forums. Not the other way round. Like how you shouldn't praise a game before you actually play it, same goes for complaining.

This is a loaded question, far more loaded than it may at first seem.

On one hand, these forums can be a good place to learn info, find guilds etc etc.

On the other hand, in recent times they have become a slightly toxic atmosphere of negativity that has been noticed elsewhere.

Whilst they are only home to a small percent of the playerbase of the game itself, and the opinions of those here are only a small representative of the overall players, the amount of negativity can indeed change your perspective of something if exposed to it on a daily basis.

I'm not overly surprised at the negativity as this game does have some problems, but this game has attracted massive amounts of hatred before it was even released. Some want it to be Skyrim Online. Some want more ES. Some want more MMO. Some want more solo. Everyone has different ideas about how to "fix" this game and nerf all the classes. I hate to think of the state the game would be if everyone's ideas on here were to be put in the game.

Also I've noticed if you say anything positive about the game here, you mostly get shot down as a "fanboy" which is always super.

But it has to be said, this is what happens on every mmo forum. There's far worse ones out there.

ZoS contributes negatively to my ESO experience.

I read forums still cause I was so hopeful for this game, I just like to check up like you would a sick drug abusing relative.

I don't find it everywhere though.
Even on this forum its not everywhere whilst on other game forums like the Bethesda Softworks forums it isn't there at all except perhaps for a short while (maybe 6 months) after a major new release.

Meh, it's the internet. It is what it is. Some parts good, some parts bad. Just like everything else.

Forums are the true endgame ESO.

I feel like, ever since I started seeing how ZoS ignore their members, for example console players with text chat, it's kinda disappointing, and the fact people have been trying so hard and been mentioning for months probably the most spoken topic in months, is kinda annoying. In addition to all those other problems like the broken for group tool. I'm just annoyed I can't go to a dungeon with a friend because when ever we que together we never get in a dungeon group....what hasn't this been fixed...and seems least priortized.

Anyways...yeah I feel like the moment I posted on the forum, my love for this game dimished, and now I don't even feel like playing this game.

I actually mentioned to my friend that we should probably cancel our membership and try other games, like (I know childish) one of the games we enjoyed playing before we started playing eso was plants vs zombies garden warfare. At least that I could play and never get bored of, and it's well polished.

Eso...nope.

I told my friend we would come back when everything is fixed but the game is just to *** right now and not worth our time.

But I also didn't know how bad everything was until I came on the forum...so yeah idk if it's the forum, or the fact I'm actually bored and annoyed, but...I don't want to play this any more and the forums do add some motive

The forums do bring me down, just like any comments section. But actual gameplay, nah.
