Monster Trophy Collections, Way to screw this up, and you did..

I'm convinced based on a number of recent changes including this one that one or both of the following are true:

1. The powers that be really really want us to spend most of our time grinding.
2. They actually hate us and like to show their contempt in little ways like this that aren't bad enough to make us quit.

The fix to a problem that never was, nobody wanted and benefits no one.

There were alternatives like having to "use" fishing trophies just like monster trophies or improving the tool tip for the item to alleviate some confusion. But no, had to go full speed ahead with the change and to heck with all the rest.

It was asked that since they did an audit of the game to ensure that every creature can be found at every level for every faction throughout the game that they share the results. Just a simple list of creatures, where they can be found and at what levels so that their claim can be confirmed or if not, then the community can help fill in the gaps of what's missing. All that was given was silence.

It was suggested that if they did indeed go forward with the change that they make life just a little easier by removing the five levels restriction. Some of us leveled past our chance to get the monster trophies on our intended mains because they didn't work at the start and they weren't a top priority. So rather than wait out the months it took for them to get fixed in purgatory we when on playing the game because there was at least the small comfort that they could be gathered on an alt and shipped to our mains. Nope, can't have that anymore.

All this nonsensical change says to me is somebody in management made a p*** poor decision and refuses to acknowledge it. They'd rather inconvenience a huge portion of their player base than say "My bad, not one of my better ideas."

Just one less thing for me to be interested in and another good reason to go on hiatus for a while.

I'm kind of wondering if maybe everyone should individually report this to CS (or maybe /bug it in-game)... I mean supposedly the reason they made this change in the first place is because they were getting a lot of CS reports with people who were confused about the system, and this was intended to clear up the confusion, so if they suddenly start getting vastly more CS reports about it expressing concern and confusion with the changes to it...

If ZOS won't listen to us expressing our concerns about this on the forums over however long it's been since this change was first announced, maybe sending a ton of /bug or /feedback reports in-game is the only way to get them to pay attention.

To be certain I am not suggesting any malfeasances here, just that if there's a legit problem, we all bug report it. With my trophies stored on a mule ( my fault) but others bugged and unusable as well as my main over leveled for some trophy drops ("always able to find drops at your level" -- uh I don't think so) she hasn't got since Early Launch, I'd say it's not working for me.

Because they were tired of getting /feedback from people who didn't understand how collectibles worked. So now we need to show them that this was a bad change by each and every one of us going in game and submitting /feedback about what a bad change it is. The didn't listen to us saying what a bad idea it was here on the forums ever since we found out this was coming, but apparently they listen to /feedback so that's what we all have to do.

Derrrrr, you know I was just there last night (non-vet)... but I can't remember seeing one... or not seeing one... I wasn't actively looking. If there are, there are maybe 2-3 All I remember is giant snakes and Naga.

Oh I totally agree with that. I think it's completely unacceptable in fact.

If they were tired of people contacting CS about trophies this likely won't clear it up. I've had no less than 3 people in my guild ask today what they are supposed to do with these trophies. The tooltip is still useless and nowhere does it say that it's automatically added to your collection. People are trying to "use" them as before but getting frustrated as that no longer works. I'd estimate that about 85% of players don't even know what the monster trophy achievements are and have never even looked at that section of the journal. These trophies are just pure confusion for those players.

We've had the new system on xbox since launch (never had a use option). It should count as soon as you pick it up.... however, there are a few items that don't seem to be counting /bugged. Since I don't have them all, i'm not sure. Scaly Durzog hide is definitely bugged. .. and I get no credit from Inert Egg (giant snake?). it is possible spider one is bugged too.

If I remember right, this is a level restricted trophy. Why? Who knows. I got it at too low a level too. But you have to be a certain level to click it. Hover over it again and see if it says somewhere "Level 30" Ithink.

Yup, part of the problem I have with the whole thing. Clearing up confusing by making it more confusing, brilliant! Those who understood the way it used to work and got blind sided by this change are getting all mixed up. Those who didn't understand how trophies used to work likely still don't and are probably more confused now than ever.

This ^. This right here is what I believe is the root of the problem. Somebody made a really weird and just plain stupid design choice when it came to the console version of monster trophies. Console players trying to figure out just what this unexplained and seemingly useless object taking up space was all about, were coming to the forums asking PC players who didn't know or realize there was a difference telling them they have to "use" the item which they can't. That miscommunication cause a lot of people to send in a ton of reports believing there was a bug that wasn't there (not to say some trophies weren't/aren't bugged, just that how they function wasn't).

There's no real reason they had to change the function of trophies for the console like they did. It's not like there's some technical limitation that prevents the PS4 or XB1 from using consumables. If you can program a potion to activate on use you could do the same thing with the trophies. Then it would have been a simple matter to take the fishing trophies and make them activate on use as well and call it a day. Simple.

Unfortunately Instead of acknowledging their little faux pas and bringing the console version in line with the PC, which would have actually been an upgrade and cleared up a lot of the confusion without leaving anybody feeling frustrated of punished. They instead decided it was better to downgrade PC to fall in line with the goofball console version.

Really makes you wonder doesn't it? I mean if that's the rational we can expect for future updates guess PC should brace themselves for when ZOS drops text chat and makes proximity voice chat mandatory. You know to make things less confusing, reduce bug reports and make things more consistent between platforms.
