Why are you forcing your players to pvp with the new content? I hate pvp, especially in ESO. Its mind numbingly boring and composed of giant zergs spamming aoes. This coupled with the lag in Cyrodil, I don't know why anyone enjoys it. After months of waiting for new content Imperial City is finally here. Yet you are forcing pve and pvp content together. You add all this new gear, materials, recipes etc... but force pvers to pvp for ANYTHING that you added.

I've been here since launch and desperately wanted ESO to thrive, but you, Zenimax, have failed me.

Ridiculous that the only way to get basic craft mats to make basic gear is PvP or Raiding.

Forcing non-PvPers into a PvP zone gankfest is going to alienate solo/casuals and for what reason?

Love that PvPers got an update and finally got IC. The stones should be tied to PvP-focused rewards instead of being the primary method to get basic craft mats.

No, there is no new PvE zone at the moment. The next newest zone will most likely be High Wrothgar (orc city) near Stormhaven.

oh just stop it, since release MORE THAN A YEAR AGO eso only received PVE updates, now the imperial city that was announced during BETA is the first and only PVP update planned for the game that we know about (besides justice system PVP part that probably was scrapped) and they already announced 5 new PVE only zones comming in the future, Orsinium, Murkmire, Abah's landing, clockwork city and Mephala's realm and they also hinted at the gold coast as a new zone to come sometime next year, just have some patience, PVE is next, and next and next ad infinitum

    edit:

High Hrothgar is the sacred nord mountain in Skyrim, Orsinium is the orsimer kingdom that lies in the Wrothgarian mountains between northeast of Stormhaven and east of Rivenspire.

Though I am positively aching for new PVE content, I don't mind this big update aimed at PVP players. Sure, I really want to return to Tamriel today, and I don't consider this update very tempting at all, but the truth is PVP guys are the real intended target here. And they deserve a little something, especially considering how long they have waited for Imperial City. Is not my kind of game either in there, because I take no joy in killing so I can steal stuff from people... But I am sure there's much more to IC than that. At least they put this part of the game where it belongs though.

It will take a while, but the next big update will be coming... Though I doubt it will be this year, when it does finally arrive there will a lot of gank and grief free content to be had...i hope...

They should've implemented a toggle for PvP/PvE so you could go in and fight the monsters and do quests without the super gankfest ambush masters out there.

But instead we have to wait for Orsinium.

C'mon! The issue is not that this is new content for PVP players! It's about time! The issue is that ZOS has raised levels and that includes crafting levels. The mats needed for that PVE crafting for the new levels are only available in this PVP dedicated zone, or so we are told. Sooooo...... the complaint is that PVE players who are not geared for pvp, esp. those who are primarily crafters, are simply being lured into the zone to be used as sacrificial lambs to give PVPers someone to gank.

But that's the game. Hating PvP and playing ESO is relegating yourself to only playing half of the game and then complaining that your content is only 50% enjoyable. It's like playing a Mario game as someone who hates jumping. "Play your way" means you can approach the content like you would like to approach it. It doesn't means that the content is going to be catered to your approach. This has always, from the beginning, been a game designed around both PvP and PvE, not two different games sharing one name, and as such it seems perfectly natural to me that they release content that ties the two together directly. Then again, I enjoy both dynamics... which is why I play a game that has both.

This PvE vs PvP thing has reached famous levels of entitled drama. So many players act like the entirety of the game should be catered to their own personal preferences in regard to what a massively multiplayer game should be. There are going to be concessions. Middle-grounds will be tread upon thoroughly. It's no one's personal playground, and believe it or not, ZOS actually have a vision for their game and what they want it to be that exists beyond what player demands are. They aren't providing a public service. Despite the many problems they have encountered through implementation (bugs, iffy balancing, questionable class/skill/set changes, etc) they have still maintained some kind of vision even if it has been perhaps (definitely) too ambitious for them to realize smoothly.

Sounds like you might just be playing the wrong game. This is a game that features PvP in a dedicated fashion. Neutering expansion content by sheltering pure PvE players would limit what they could potentially accomplish. Also, look at it this way: PvPers have to deal with PvE content in the IC. Should they also be telling ZOS that they "failed" them, or should they maybe just give the damn thing a go first and then provide feedback based on what they experience?

This comment makes no sense. Are you saying there should also be PvP in Glenumbra because some people prefer PvP?

The game has PvP. Deal with it. I don't really play PvP, but I am not so entitled to think everything has to cater to me. I understand that there are other players who have different interests.

Plus, the IC content adds something novel to the game. Good for ZOS.

I'm sorry but being able to harvest basic crafting materials without having to PvP or do a raid is a pretty basic MMO feature.

It's been present in this game since launch..until now. Other than gankers looking for easy prey, I don't see how anyone benefits from this.

Dissatisfaction with this does not equal hate for PvPers or not wanting PvP to get new content.

Also, there's no "right way" to play an MMO. By their very nature, MMOs such as this one offer many different ways to play, whether that's PvP, Raiding, Solo questing, farming mats and selling them, or sitting in a pub telling each other stories (you know, the "RPG" part).

There hasn't been a single new solo PvE zone since this game launched. One can be disappointed in that and still be very happy that PvP finally got some sorely-needed attention!

There was absolutely no reason to wall off all the basic crafting mats behind mandatory PvP or Raiding. The new system could be every bit as awesome (in fact with some creative thinking, even better) without using it to gate access to the simplest materials.

My only complaint is 7/8 of the addons I use are broken, and it feels the expansion was rushed and didn't give authors time to update their addons.

As for the PvP, I didn't buy the expansion. I'm actually glad they had a way to get the base content without being forced to pay for an expansion I don't care for.

I know. But ZOS decided to make sure crafters who PvE have to wait or get ganked in PvP. I have never saw one motif anywhere in my playthrough so far and I have looked everywhere.

I've been collecting clothier mats but they have been increasingly rare out in the wild. Apart form leather, I get lots of that.

I am not a big pvp fan myself, although I do still go into cyrodiil and pvp with friends and family. Finished the quests etc.... I have no issue with IC or getting killed numerous times because I really suck at pvp. I do however, think it was a bad idea putting all the new materials and gear strictly in a pvp area. People waiting for Orsinium and needing to get ready for that dlc are going to have a rough time upgrading their gear. I am sure there will be plenty of VR16 content associated with Orsinium, and forcing the pve community to do something they are really bad at is never a good thing. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I don't speak on my behalf, but for the rest of the community that feels this way. For those that say suck it up and get good, well thats not always the case. Some have a knack for pvp and can do it with their eyes closed. Others no matter how hard they try, just can't get good whatever the reason. Maybe not good hand-eye coordination or maybe suffer from a physical or mental disability. Whatever the case, each person is different. Too bad they decided to do it this way. I'm happy they gave the pvp'ers content and will join in myself. Just feel really bad for those that are going to get stomped and come out with nothing. They shoud never have implemented TV stone theft of other players. At least they could reap some reward even if they are not great at pvp. This dlc will be nothing but zerg and grief......
