Heads Up! Skill Point Reset with Imperial City Update

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up (or remind you) that we will be resetting all skill points with tomorrow's update. This will happen upon login, so please make note or take screenshots prior to 8:00am EDT tomorrow morning for the North American megaserver, or 4:00am CEST for the European megaserver.

Thanks, and look forward to seeing everyone in Imperial City soon!

I have a question.. How are we going to do this with Xbone? The screenshot thingy.

Should we try to record a clip?
The only thing I fear is there are rumors of people losing skill points upon resets when they are Vamp/WW..
There are people that report losing points when they reset if they are not cured ahead of time.

I'm pretty sure Xbone has a screenshot feature. Does it not work in game?

I'm assuming this is only for PC megaservers, and that console resets will occur in a few weeks or so.

Is that assumption correct?

That's correct, apologies for not making that clear.

The reset will happen with the maintenance for each megaserver. Tomorrow and Tuesday, PC/Mac skill points will be reset, but console won't be reset until the maintenance on 9/15 and 9/16.

That's correct, apologies for not making that clear.

No worries.

Although I wouldn't mind if the console reset happened tomorrow...I want to move some skill points, but am too cheap to pay (real or virtual) money for it

Attributes? They didnt reset for my copy paste char on PTS a few weeks ago. Cool, because i had to pay to respec.

Thanks! One of my characters just hit a wall due to an accumulation of poor choices on my part. I was just considering a respec...

I told them to do that. They are just following my instructions.

A PSA for those on PC....there are two add ons I use and work well to help keep your information. One I have used for over a year and one I have just checked out.

Binder (updated version) keeps all your key binds across characters set. It includes add on key binds. Twice ESo has accidentally reset your User UI and lost keybinds. Log on your main and set it up.

Actually I feel that with the major changes in character abilities and skills, especially for stamina builds, you should be offering free respecs for attributes and champion points. It was nice if it was for a few days while we work on our builds, but I would be happy with at least once.

Attributes are being reset, see OP. Dunno about CP.

Is it to hard to mail everyone a skill respect scroll and attribute reset scroll so people can choose whether to change or not? Or try out the build they current have and if yes, savekeep the scroll for later use?

Eh, I like it better this way. They've been doing free skill/attribute resets for a long time. And now free CP resets. Mailing those things wouldn't help with resetting CP, either.

If you need to remember your build, see @SLy_Kyti's post above for an addon to help. Don't forget to screenshot your skill pages if you need help remembering that.

I for one am not happy about this for two reasons....

1) I never saw this posted until my wife advised me of this happening.

2) That because I did not know this I restated ect one of my people yesterday at not to slight of a cost....don't care about the gold

Yea, yea...before you forum folks go off and say that I just should know these things and read up on all that is happening I don't have the time.

Would have been nice if this was placed directly in the log in screen (that the stats are being reset) as this is a BIG thing to happen to be honest.

Also...

Why in the heck is it really needed. Honestly you at ESO should offer the reset as a "TOKEN" like many, many other games have done in the past when they do such things so those that are happy with their lines keep em.

If you do not have the ability to take a screen shot, here are some ideas

Pen and paper - it's not new but good enough if you haven't forgotten how to write with a pen or pencil.
Your phone - if it has a built in camera.
Web sites - just go back to the site you got your build from and do it again.

The simple answer is that it is easier for them, and probably more reliable, to reset the characters and refund the points than it is to upgrade each character individually.
