Since you don't get cured of werewolf or vampire affliction with applying the patch, and the "bug" on PC was that you'd "lose" the skillpoints if you cured before you had reset skillpoints, this may very well be the wrongest possible move.

If any, reset skillpoints prior to patching and do nothing else. That way, you just waste the gold cost of resetting (which is what is done in the patch for free) and eliminate the chance of losing skillpoints since you haven't any distributed in wolf line.

Exactly, and CP's are the easiest thing to have reset because if you are happy with your current build, you just commit the points as they are now and you are all done. But if not, then you can go to work moving the points around to compensate for the nerfs

When it does happen for us, simply say "xbox take a screenshot" if you have kinect. If not, then double tap the xbox button on the controller and select screenshot.

That's correct, apologies for not making that clear.

The reset will happen with the maintenance for each megaserver. Tomorrow and Tuesday, PC/Mac skill points will be reset, but console won't be reset until the maintenance on 9/15 and 9/16.

I believe it's occurring due to changes to some abilities as part of the patch / DLC.

Take a screenshot (or make notes) about your point distribution so you can easily set your character up again....assuming you don't want to make use of the free re-spec to address any changes you'd like to make.

Then when you re do them if you have a 'crap what did I choose' moment you can refer to your screenshots

All of your items will continue to be researched, but at a much slower rate unless/until you put points back into research.

These forums are the primary way the Zeni communicates with their customers. The topics that they deem most important/relevant are stickied to remain on the top, so you don't have to read every topic. If you choose not to come here to get important updates, that's on you. Don't attempt to chide the company for not "giving you warning" when said warning was published for weeks and you failed to avail yourself of it.

PROBLEMS:
Is anyone having problems on xbox with picking up items that already are in your inventory but your list is FULL? You were always able to pick up items that where in your inventory even if your inventory was full. Also I have found that using a destructive lightning staff that it doesn't show the stream of lightning. I have restarted the game countless times and still and having the same problems.

Going to have to say it: I didn't even read this thread because of "Imperial City" in the title. Given I'm not buying the DLC, I just assumed only those who purchased the DLC would have their skill points reset.

I had to spend another 500 gold to undo morphs after restoring my skill points thinking I must have made a mistake, but it seems it's not the skills that... uh... broke.

It'll just take me a little time to get used to the changes is all.

Right, I know skill points have been reset but my race/character appearance has changed. I am a Khajit and appear so on the login screen but my actual in game character is some kind of elf (I have pointy ears).

just downloaded the IC patch and logged in. I cannot enter ANY campaign as guest or as host because they are locked "since it has been changed and entered within the past 24 hours" (I haven't changed anything). So now I'm unable to play IC.... any way to fix this issue other than waiting? this is pretty frustrating

I don't come and read the forum. I just lost every skill I had and I'm a vet level 5. This isn't right I spent over 150 hours getting to that point.
How can they do this to everyone. There should have been an official notice when logging into the game to warn players. What am I supposed to do now start over? That's not going to happen and you sure can't continue to play and get them back.

Redistribute the skill points. You lost nothing except their allocation.
