Most people who want options use that same argument "it would not impact you since you wouldn't have to use it, so why take it away from me since I would like to have it". This argument is just wrong.
This is an MMO with a competitive aspect (even more so in PvP) and "options" such as class change would mean changing the entire game rules and mechanics. So it would impact *everybody* whether they use it or not, because they'd compete with people who have that option too.
Not ALL options are game-changers but most of them are, and this one definitely would be.
I fail to see how this is a game changer anymore than rerolling. If good players can level up as fast as people are saying they can, then the ones who are playing to be the best and take advantage of superior classes are already doing so. You guys talk about me being inconsistent, but you're doing the exact same things.

Seriously, you don't see the difference between :
1/ Reroll, spend the equivalent of AT LEAST 2 weeks full-time levelling this alt toon and its class skills
and
2/ Insta-change your class with gold, crowns or an instant game mechanic ?
Really ?
Extra question : if you don't see any difference, how come you insist on class change instead of rerolling ?
Extra note : Resorting to insults is the ultimate "weapon" of people who have no arguments left or no arguments at all.

Of course you have the selfish players who are perfectly happy with their character who say you should've chose more carefully or make a new character. Not to mention how much this game has pissed me off over the past two weeks I've had it, what with the crashing, lagging, and spotty hit detection. I just don't like the idea of a Vampiric Templar. It goes completely against itself. It's so idiotic watching my Vampire character use these Aedric holy moves, "chosen one" or not. I want to change to Nightblade or Sorcerer as they're more fitting.

Show me one Elder Scrolls game where you can change your class... TES games are all about choices, if you choose wrong in the beginning then too bad, deal with it

Morriwind? Oblivion? Skyrim? Every Elder Scrolls game? You're not limited by class in any of them except this one. Since that limitation is apparently necessary, the option to switch should be available.

You've come to the wrong genre of gaming my friend!
"I don't play this [snip] to work". If this is your mentality, you're gonna have a fun time collecting endgame gear!
If you truly don't want to reroll your character because level 1-40 is too much "work", you're gonna be in for a surprise when you hit veteran ranks. Then the real work starts

I don't plan on seeing the veteran ranks all the way through. A million XP per level AND they'll be going away within the next year most likely? [snip] that. If it ends up happening while I'm playing, so be it. But it most likely won't because it's not going to be my focus. Veteran Ranks are nothing but a cheap and artificial way to extend game hours.

So you say you wont see Veteran Ranks all the way through? Even claiming they will go away by next year? What a prediction range you have. I'm very impressed....
Veteran ranks are essentially levels that take longer to get one to the other. You might as well have said the levels prior were also a cheap way to extend game hours too. That's ludicrous to say the least.
Also if you aren't in this game in the long run stop asking to change things that will affect this game long after you are gone.
Class Changing would turn the community more elitist than before. I know this because unlike most people in this thread who say most MMOs don't allow a class change, I have. It was one of the causes for one of the MMOs I played for its community to turn into a FOTM.
Allow class switching>tweaks to classes> people switch to the FOTM class> Repeat. It's a terrible, visious cycle because it broods elitists. Trust me when I say it's harder to change the community than to change the game itself for the developers. That's the risk. They GAME developers not crowd control. Those MMO communities are still toxic to this day if you aren't the FOTM class because they would kick people from groups if they weren't the FOTM class.
I get that class switching would give you more gameplay hours as a player, but don't be blinded by the risk. So please weigh the positives, and negatives of your views. However if you simply don't care you don't have the right to be on these forums demanding anything.
This is an MMO. Grinding is essential to the longevity to MMOs. This also means rerolling for a new character is a necessary evil. I am personally happy that this MMO isn't near as grindy as other MMOs. To me, ZOS seems to have taken better measures to make this MMO less groan inducing. It's not perfect, but it's better in comparison to some others.
Be glad that Champion points are account wide, but even that has its own problems.

Most of that stuff happens already anyway. Not being a Vampire or Werewolf, being a Templar or Dragon Knight, using "weak" weapons such as Healing Staves. And have you listened to these people on the mic? They're all rude to each other for absolutely no reason. The toxicity has already reached 100%. So what, adding class switch would bump it up to 110%? I don't think so.

Thought this would be a text chat/damage numbers thread. Am disappointed.
Still, if this didn't seem like it would be difficult to code, and therefore cause real problems that could affect gameplay stability, I wouldn't be against it. Some rich kid wants to change his class so he can copy some youtuber. How dare he want to have fun with the game by trying to see if another class suits him better. Boo Hoo.
