It's ridiculous for an MMORPG not to have this feature.

Alliance or maybe even race change(not that I agree or would do it) would be acceptable but a whole class change... Don't think so.

The ability to change classes. Seriously, I don't know why these ZOS guys keep avoiding this. Say what you want, but this is still technically an "Elder Scrolls" game. I wasn't expecting the classes to be so separated. I should've known better, but I didn't. I'd like to rectify that mistake. Of course you have the selfish players who are perfectly happy with their character who say you should've chose more carefully or make a new character. I'm one of those people who likes sticking with one character. I like my current character and I don't like the idea of starting her over or having two Vestiges. Not to mention how much this game has pissed me off over the past two weeks I've had it, what with the crashing, lagging, and spotty hit detection. I just don't like the idea of a Vampiric Templar. It goes completely against itself. It's so idiotic watching my Vampire character use these Aedric holy moves, "chosen one" or not. I want to change to Nightblade or Sorcerer as they're more fitting.

Show me one Elder Scrolls game where you can change your class... TES games are all about choices, if you choose wrong in the beginning then too bad, deal with it

Morriwind? Oblivion? Skyrim? Every Elder Scrolls game? You're not limited by class in any of them except this one. Since that limitation is apparently necessary, the option to switch should be available.

This is an mmo, not a single player RPG. If they let people do that there would be massive balance issues as many people would switch to whatever class was the strongest after every class change. There is a reason why most mmos don't let you switch your class.

Welcome to ESO. Level 1-50 can be done in a day. Seriously. Roll an alt. you have to level all the skills anyway which takes longer than 1-50.

how does it take a day?

takes me a day to just gain 5 levels...

I have not ever heard of any mmo that will allow you to change a class. Changing your race or gender.. even faction. YES. But class? Never! And why should it? If you want to roll a certain class, you have to earn it. Create a new toon, choose that class, and level it like the rest of us.

I like how FFXI did it. One character that could play all classes. You had to of course level and skill each class and even have gear for that class. Some pieces of gear was equipable for several classes which was nice. But the whole system worked out great.

I'm struggling to think of an MMO outside of UO or any 'class-less' game that allows you to arbitrarily switch class.

Even Ultima Online has classes now; Warrior, Paladin, Samurai, Ninja, Mage, Necromancer, Blacksmith. However you can use the advanced character creation to create a character without a class.

A good example of a classless MMO is The Secret World, no classes at all, you have different sets of skills for different weapons, eventually you can learn every single skill, however you can only have 7 active and 7 passive skills active at a time, but you can switch builds on the fly.

Think of any basic mmo feature, now assume it's not in this game, because it probably isn't

That's probably why I'm still playing the game.

Because no log out button feature? ;)
