Charging 2500 crown unites for a re-skinned lioness and appearances is just a waste of developer time when you have much more serious issues going on with the constant crashes. Does anyone else agree?

I guess in one sense I'm neutral on this, not having bought such things from the crown store and having only had a couple of minor crashes since PC launch.

However, in another sense I can appreciate that the people designing and coding the crown store items aren't the same people who deal with server stability and other performance issues, so no, I don't agree.

You do realize that skins and costumes are artwork dept. Doubt they have much knowledge on how to fix all the crashes >>

Holy crap, such an impertinent attitude.

    Server crashed. It happens.

If this is how you're going to react, your parents should take your games away.
  • BlueGreenMikey
I think the point is that if money is so tight over there that they have to lay off an entire division of customer service people, maybe they should stop putting resources into the artwork department until it has competent IT.

Dev time? It takes them like 10 mins to reskin those mounts. They then release them and practically prints them money. Little effort for a big payout that pays to keep the lights on.

Actually I want them to sell *MORE* skins... and then use the money from them to pay for more developers.

Manager: You there, what is your specialty developer ?

    Dev: I am an artist.
    3D artist in fact.
I am one of people responsible for graphics in game.

Manager: Good ! Great. Fix the lag in game will you ?
    Theres a good chap ...

And so lag was fixed using Photoshop, blender and other various tools that have apsolutly nothing to do with netcode, server performance, client issues or pritty much anything performance wise.

If by "crashes" you're refering to the server being down again, I don't think it's ZOS fault in this case. This happened just a few days ago already, there was a huge outage at several large IPS in the U.S. I guess all we can do is to be patient at this point ;)

Agree. Skins are the most efficient money maker ever. You can buy the game for $15 on sale but a frost pony will cost ya $30

It looks like the NA PC megaserver problems tonight are caused by a major Level 3 network outage across the US.

Because programmers work on art assets.

Server crashed on all platforms twice within a week is just unacceptable.

This makes perfect sense, but it's not how it works.

The smallest amount of effort is produced by an even smaller amount of overworked peons, and sold at the highest possible price the market can barely afford without walking the other way, so that the few upper mgmt types and owners can have more dosh.

Nothing hurts the expense sheet like adding employees. If they could get away with it, they'd 'acquire' new devs as slaves. Anybody checked ZOS' basement lately? Better had, just to be sure. The right thing to do, and all that.

Yes...but where to point your frustration?
The maker of a game whose services are part of an outage, or the company who manages the infrastructure that caused it?

...Nah screw it, much easier to just get angry here.

Insane when you think about it. I've bought full expansions for that price and the season pass for The Witcher 3 costs less. A lot of MMO players seem to lap this *** up, though.

I can't say anything as I bought a whole pile of junk from the crown shop when i was drunk. Very drunk. :/

it's there just to make some money without entering Pay to Win territory that the devs said alot they want to avoid by all means possible, creating a game isn't charity work, it requires lots and lots of money and investidors wanting their returns as soon as possible and **** everything else, developers have to receive their salary each month or do you think they live of pure happiness in the digital world? they need to eat, pay bills and etc and this requires cash to keep flowing into the game month after month or they will lose their jobs.
