Sadly, the article doesn't really get into MMOs but as my guild is about a 50-50 men/women split I'd say it's pretty safe to bet a LOT of us "girls" play this game. You MIGHT want to start paying attention to that ZOS. Just sayin'.

This one is wondering whatever happened to that nice barmaid costume she saw somewhere a while ago?

While a lady sometimes needs a great big ballgown sometimes she also just needs a nice dress she can go fishing in or one that is suitable for rowdy tavern hopping and then falling asleep in the gutter.

It's great to see more female gamers, especially in the ESO community. My guild is co-led by a wonderful miss Lix.

What's difficult is how the majority of male gamers react to suddenly hearing a female voice and turning immediately into disgusting vile creatures. Text chat can be monitored but when it comes to voice chat, ZOS have no way of controlling what people are saying. It's a shame really because the minority ruin it for the majority. Even with Lix, as thick as her skin is, the stuff they say is still incredibly hurtful and in other cases will prevent many female gamers wanting to play.

Although saying all this I am agreeing with @ZOS_RichLambert. I'm not quite sure on your point on this one. (I just like talking).

In a recent survey of 10 gamers, 6 of which were female, we found that 60% of the market is female.

Some of these surveys are somewhat questionable to say the least. I read a terrible one in the BBC the other day.

Personally, I think ESO does actually cater for the female demographic very well. There's a huge range of options for both types of character, and the changing of the armour sets to be less "exposed" certainly didn't happen by chance. If I remember some articles a while ago, many commented on how come, going in to battle as a female character why are we supposed to wear iron plate bikini's ??? (a very fair comment!)

I think ESO is prob. closer to this on both sides

If this thread is supposed to be about all girls wanting pretty clothes or something, I will be offended. Not all females want the same thing out of this game. We are not of a hive mind. I want more playable game content and to be treated in game like any other player.

At the risk of being labeled a "fan boy" (and at my age I'd take as a complement anyone mistaking me for a "boy"), clearly ZOS is paying some attention to this. Maybe they could be doing more. I don't know how to measure it.

But rule 1 for dealing with any company is if you want any chance of some meaningful result you MUST ask for something specific. At this point there is really no meaningful way for Rich to respond to OP's post. You have the attention of "the boss", give him something to chew on!

I know there are a lot of female gamers, but i dont encounter that many. I feel the "Omg female" reaction they generally get discourages them from putting themselves out there.

Would love a day where its more open, so i can improve on my 50 males to 1 female ratio for new players met.

I dont have anything against having lots of male friends, but i would be down to have more diversity.

90% of my guild are men, almost all area chat dialogue is from men. Not saying that you're being dishonest but women are definitely the minority in this game. I think ZOS does plenty for female gamers with the costume dresses, and I see a lot of women favoring the cat mounts and pets. Don't act like ZOS is ignoring it's female gamers because they aren't.

Differently level of gamers look at games differently. I come from the hardcore competitive shooter rise up that happening in the early 2000's where every game had a cash tournament. I see my fiancé playing bejeweled and don't really think of it as a video game. Plus when she does make a character for Skyrim or ESO she makes a tall women with gigantic breast. W/e it's her thing and people are different. Grouping female gamers in a group to try to break stigma is in itself enforcing the stigma.

This one can sometimes be found in or around the Rosy Lion on Sunday evenings. Mostly outside now as the tavern staff complained about this one's tail getting tangled in the beer taps. Also this one has several times almost killed that drunk who keeps getting in the way of the dancing.

I am confused as to the point of this post.

There is always women in our group in pvp, in fact our guild leader is a woman and a good leader, and the women in my guild always seem to be complaining that there is just no sexy clothing or armor in ESO.
