My god, too many to count. One of them was caused by nature rather than stupidity, though. My old company used to run satellite internet (wimax and docsis). One day there was a major outage, so two of my engineer friends went to investigate the tower. The other day some moron decided to perform a large pg dump on a live server, instead of sshing it to a remote backup server I provided for him. He filled up the disk space and just walked away. It was down for 6 hours because no one decided to call me. He is still currently employed.

I get Error 108 or it saying 'Login details are incorrect' (which they are not) - just want to continue leveling my alt!

Same waste of time, and this forum is entertaining. If I were to get on netflix I would stay up till 5am watching supernatural. So forum's it is!

I think you are misinterpreting what it was like in England in the '70s and '80s - move where exactly? Terrorism didn't start when the US first noticed it.

What I've been able to find out, is apparently a network device broke in Chicago. This device is a tier 1 network device (tier 1 means it's the top most support device, everything in that network depends on that device, sort of like your brain or heart in your body) Since it's a tier 1 network all the smaller companies (most of the names we are familiar with for ISPs) that connect to it are SOL. Ya know the old adage **** rolls down hill?

They apparently didn't have any replacements on site and it's being shipped in.

I don't buy this 'worldwide outage' weak excuse... Battle.net, Steam, Destiny, PSN-store,League of Legends, .... all working without problems. This site -> working without problems, netflix -> working without problems. So out of all the games, websites, services, etc that are out there, only the ESO servers are impacted by this 'worldwide outage'.... rrrriiight.

ZOS clearly is making up excuses for an internal fault, so that they don't have to give compensation to players. Very disapointing.

Whenever we go offline our toons sit in a corner and rock back and forth constantly tormented by the memory of their time spent in Coldharbour before Lyris rescued them, all the while waiting for us to reactivate them from their shadowy condemntion.

This is not your average downtime. This is being caused by a unique situation out of Zenimax's hands. Unfortunately due to this there is no ETA, we can only wait...
