Do you bust in on 1 v1's ?

Lately I've just been watching. PvP in perve mode ;)

I'm even refraining from healing pugs, just to observe the battles.

So, organised duels or not, do you jump in and heal or kill if you stumble across such skirmishes?

If an enemy gets a helping hand I'll perhaps jump in but I gave up taking this game very seriously some time ago. After all death is but an inconvenience at most.

How do you feel about an ally just watching you die?

I always try to honor duels, even if by chance. But I will jump in and lend a hand if more enemies happen to arrive and tip the balance.

Generally no unless I know its not a duel, such as a troll sorc being a prick to some lowbie or outclassed player

More commonly some nub jumps in on a solo kill of mine, stealing KB or just getting in the way.

But its war right, so I dont really worry too much about courtesy, other than those few people i know that only really duel or say something to me mid fight to get me to back off so they can finish their thing

    Impromptu "duels" are the best.

I love when people (even allies) watch me fight (and sometimes die).

I had a great fight against 3 other players a few nights back, all of them decent. I was able to kill two of them and barely fending off the final player when he gets instagibbed by some random nightblade. What could have been my best fight of the night and it was ruined by someone just looking for some free AP.

So yeah unless I'm in a zerg lane with constant back and forth when I see people fighting somewhat evenly I just keep moving.

If I see duels happen randomly I run towards them, take my chair and watch.
In case the enemy decides to run from the duel I kill him.

When I fight someone, duel like, I don't want other ones to help me either..

If I see a 1v1 I usually purposely don't run in unless I see my "ally" going down fairly fast. Either way I hope I'm doing the right thing as I don't want to step on toes. Personally I wouldn't want others to help if I get into an unexpected 1v1, but if I'm outnumbered it is appreciated. Not built for 1vX and small group skirmishes are fun.

Almost always let them be. Except one time there was 1 AD, 1 DC, and 1 EP and the AD said "please go zerg elsewhere". I let it go, and everyone was like, "can we go kill them?".

So we took our 16 and got that booty

I liked the part last night where zaz was mentioning something youd said to him about the bubble, i was literally replying "she never bubbled me tonight" three seconds later saw you at chal milegate and instabubbled.

Although, to get back on topic, to be completely fair if they are 1v1ing on a spawn line in between contested hotspots, I have no issue with my 12+ man group just obliterating whatever is in the way.

Most organized dueling happens off to the side, if they want to sit at Alessia bridge approach, thats their own risk

One time while a battle was raging in Aleswell I saw Lashan and Vanus going at it in one corner tower. I figured the battle was impromptu and didn't have much bearing on the outcome of the siege. Plus, it's two great players going at it, it would have ruined it if I had jumped in. Was very cinematic. I /sitchair'ed. Can't remember who won.

Let's say it's some AD running to Fort Ash to rejoin the group fighting a solo ganker north of Nikel. As long as it's not somebody who I know is trying to get good footage of a nice clean solo kill I'll jump in that, even if it's somebody I know can fend for themselves.

One final concern, is, am I going to be "posterized" by somebody who is streaming or Shadowplay recording for their YT channel. If you're one v one'ing Sypher or King Richard don't be surprised if I cloak away lol

Complex decision, I should make a flow chart.

Depends on the location. Almost always jump in, unless I know it's a duel. Some people even got mad at me, but honestly you shouldn't duel on the line between two same colored keeps. Impromptu duels are nice and all, but the few times people have stopped for me, I've just gotten zerged later on in the fight, or they have.

If i see 1 vs 1 and i don't know it's a duel i attack. Yes i got many tell by that. But i also had a time i did not interfere with 1 vs 1 and then i got tells why i didn't help. So it's not always obvious what a duel is or not.

If I see 2 enemy faction duel, i do attack though.

    You can't I suppose.

I guess my point is there is more to learn about your own class and others if your not being rescued by an ally or running with a group all the time. I mean if they've ridden for 10 minutes to get there, or a group member sure , but a tiff within a stone throw of transit?

You see one guy fighting another and no one else is insight or interrupting it, then it's really mean to help your ally in my opinion.
Sometimes my best fights get ruined by people sniping or ganking my enemy cause it was easy Ap in that moment..

Random duels are awesome, especially if your fight gets interrupted by players of the third alliance and you group up to kill them and afterwards continue the duel.

You know that interrupting this duel won't bring you any further to win the campaign? Take the ressource closest to the fight and you did something for it.

You dont want help in 1x1 and i desperatly need help, no problem there. If someone watches me die to another player without trying to save me i dont like that at all. On that matter if "my" guy loses the duel should i resurrect or do they get offended then cause they want to start from a keep?

If it's a fight away from the normal paths of combat and it's 1v1 then I'll observe and wait to see if it's a duel or not. Can normally tell since most duels are reasonably balanced.

If it's 1v1 and there's another watching then I leave since it's obviously a duel.

I dont normally interrupt 1v1 or even 2v2. Depends where it is tho, if its on or nearby a resource or outpost/keep I might and most likely will kill with prejudice no matter what. If my ally dies from the 1v1 I usually ress them, if the winner attacks me right after, I kill him and then ress:)

I've had people rage at me for running by when I see them in a 1v1. So now I stop and help on all 1v1 encounters. Unless it's in the following areas.

    1. Drakelowe-Alessia lock.
    2. Field east of Cheydinhal.
    3. The snowfields west of Bruma.
    4. South of Chorrol milegate.
    5. Brindle-Roebeck lock. There abouts I've seen a few tournaments.

Those five areas seem to be the biggest dueling/tournament placed I've seen; I ignore people fighting there.

The only other time I won't help is if our raid lead tells us to ignore all fights and just get to the keep.

Fair numbers doesn't necessarily mean a fair fight. I tend to instinctively jump in and bust 1v1 fights, if it looks like my ally really needs help.

Can be some under-geared tyro with 70 CP, that's trying to catch up to his friend, that gets jumped by the apex predator exploit troll of CWC lol. I'm not going to stand there like some d-bag and watch a milkdrinker die, because what...it could be a 1v1 in someone's opinion?

Might also be a support/heal specc'ed player that's gotten slightly separated from his group. He's clearly not up for it in any shape or form, while the "dueller" hardly lets him get out of combat to rearrange his gear and action bar for a real 1v1.

But if a fight looks balanced and fun, I would never. If it seems like two well matched players enjoying themselves, I totally mind my own business. It's sort of embarrassing to jump and crash a fight, when your ally doesn't need any help. Than it's more like leeching AP really.
