Vampire Drain Essence?

I'd like to know if someone tried it...

How about Drain essence and its morphs? Is is actually good?
What are the current stats? Did you test it thoroughly?

I'm curious since -especially with stamina being under higher pressure with blocking/dodge nerf- it gives a huge chunk of stamina very quickly and could be an extremely good alternative to high stamina regen.

Does it still stun? Does it bypass blocking the same way Petrify does? Can you use dodge rolling to avoid it?

Waiting for your feedback...

used it for a bit but it does not have access to morphs and I didn't care to level it. it stuns for its duration (3 sec) does damage and heals 10% max hp per sec, and no longer drains stamina, guess they were afraid it might be op now that they gutted stamina.

    game got too disappointing.

Too bad, I think 5% stamina a tick would have been handy for those that are not DKs and cannot get stamina back on demand. Would be good for Templar tanks and an alternative to Dark Deal for Sorcs.

To get back stam on a dk we have to use ult or earthen heart skills. None of them comes for free or is cheap.
Sorcs can recover stam, nb can it and templars too. Like tankin with my nb.

Bossfights wont kill all your Stam if u manage it. Havent used pots, shards or anything else. Even in trials u wont need them in 1.6.

the heal is pretty intense for a cheap cast, still alittle wonky on how it casts tho

Its still worse than the old favorite Midnight Drain.

The 30% of the missing health returned is just not good in active combat, it will never out heal a player or a VR14+ mob.

So can the player being drained do a cc break on this? Does breaking it then provide the cc immunity?

@Wing, unless they changed again, it restores 10% of your missing health every second, not 10% max.

Many of the Daedra are immune, and the CC break makes it hardly worthy of a slot on the skillbar, unfortunately. If there's more than one person around, expect to get bashed out of it anyway.

It looks a whole lot better on paper than in actual practice.

Yeah so even if you are missing 10k health and you use this, you will get 1k/sec back BUT more like 1k and CC break and a pissed off target.

Whereas a fear would have netted you a snare and a minor maim.

BUT you will get the 10% magicka/stam regen bonus for slotting this. I know I won't be but who knows maybe somebody else can make use of it.

The Drain persists when the player you are draining starts running way. It's kind of like the NB Soul Tether ult. It's decent but I have a feeling stuff like Crushing Shock and Venom Arrow are gonna be a pain in the ass for people using this. I also did not level it up to get a morph. It might be good with a morph though.

edit: the fact that it works against cc immune players is a real boon. Which also might make the mandatory necessity for a vamp skill slotted for certain passives worth abiding by.

@Wing, unless they changed again, it restores 10% of your missing health every second, not 10% max.

As far as the official patch notes, it says, "Drain Essence: This ability now restores 10% of your health every second, and stuns your target on activation. It can be used on CC-immune targets, and can be used all the time (it no longer activates the Feed debuff)." No where does it say "missing health"... it says, 'restores 10% of your health' unless the patch notes are wrong. I see Wikipedia is saying "missing health" for the tooltip, but again, I don't see anywhere from ZOS that it is missing health and not max health.

Even if it is missing health, that's still pretty decent for a cheap ability that you can spam which also deals decent damage. Figure, if you're down to 3K in health with a max health of 18k, that's still 1500 health points per second for 3/s, which can be reapplied to the same target. Also keep in mind that vampires receive damage mitigation starting when they drop below 50% health, so even a slower health return isn't super detrimental for a vamp. Of course I only PvE, so how this would work in PvP I don't know. I'm just excited that it will finally work against bosses and any other CC Immune enemies as well as now it can be reapplied to the same target.

10% health... then you add in the blanket healing nerf...

It's a nice fast CC that can catch roll-dodgers. Would be swell if one of the morphs would give some stamina.

The ability will overheal, so the tooltip is misleading. Though as Xael pointed out, it is susceptible to interrupts.

So it basically restores 5% of your missing health in PvP.. that is really crappy. Even 30% is quite bad (GDB), so I can't think of any reason why anyone would ever want to cast this in PvP. It just gives your enemy a free shot at interrupting you and stunning you.

If it was 5% of max health, it would be so-so, still quite bad, but 5% of missing health is useless.

Its not even 5% in pvp... Its badly affected by battle spirit.. I have 20k HP, drain heals me 230 HP/s.. It shouldnt be affected by battle spirit at all, 30% heal would be not bad and worth to use this skill..

@ZOS_GinaBruno please take look at vampire drain skill, some adjustment are needed here.
