Do you use the group finder?

Ive only queued up for it once for about 4 hours (didn't work). Maybe Zenimax will consider ditching this abomination.

I used it ones or twice, less then 10 times really. It rarely works so at this point I don't bother anymore, at least not on console it's clearly broken. It's worked one time out of those times so far and it took about an hour just to get into the dungeon.

It might be helpful if people responding mention what platform they're on, as from my understanding the console version is somewhat different from the PC version.

At any rate, I'm on PC and I don't use the group finder anymore. I used to use it, but I've never been very happy with how it's set up to work, and frankly it was just broken and didn't work. Maybe it works now, but I haven't seen any evidence of that. Relatively recently (by which I mean in the last couple of months) I heard from someone who did an experiment with friends where 4 of them (they were the same level, or within a level or so of each other) queued up in the group finder for the same content, with 2 as DPS, 1 as tank, and 1 as healer. Not only did they not get grouped together, but none of them ended up in any group.

Of course, these days I pretty much only group with guildies anyway. Maybe I'll try the group finder out again though, just for kicks.

As mentioned in the other thread currently about group finder:

I find a group easy enough, what I hate is being kicked from the dungeon because the group leader is a @#!* and disbands the group!
I've even tried reforming the group with the other two players, still kicks us all though.

If the group leader leaves the group while in the dungeon - he should be kicked and allow the other players to reform!

I like to rely on my guild(s) or zone chat to fill a group. My experience in past MMOs is that dungeon finders will find you a competent group maybe 1 out of 5 times.

On PC, I never need to use it. I either play with my guild or with friend, or make up a group via zone chat.

On PS4 I find quite difficult to set up a group though.

10min to 30min wait only to be put into a group of three.

After the long wait most people have found other stuff to do so they leave the group.

People lie about their role, because the grip finder is bad, then you might get a grip with all dps after the long wait.

There is no way to weed out people without mics.

Giving the leader the ability to kick group members but not vise-versa is a broken feature.

Trying to group up verbally at the Undaunted camp is rediculous too with everyone talking over each other, playing music in the back ground, etc. The vr14's call all the lower VR guys scrubs and it just created a ton of tension and to be honest just ruins the gruoping experience.

Bottom line, all of this could be fixed with in game "looking for group" all faction text chat. The BS is much less with text chat because people's lazyness outweigh their rudeness and they are less likely to type a rude comment then they are to spout off at the mouth. I've seen it work on Warframe and I'd loved it. BTW, Warframe has all game trade text chat too and it worked great, much better than guild traders, auction houses, etc.

I use zone chat for the Undaunted daily and then I switch to group finder while I am questing. It seems hit or miss to me.

I tried it twice. The first time I was waiting 40 minutes with nothing. The second time I got matched pretty quickly....with two people who were offline.....nice....

The only way to find a group is to go to the dungeon you need and stand there until someone invites you. Would be nice to be able to do other things while you're waiting for a group

Last night on PS4 it worked for me for the first time! It only took an hour to find a group and we managed to stay together and completed a whole dungeon. It was shocking.

We did have a glitch where we all had to leave the dungeon, disband the group, regroup, enter the dungeon again to get the quest giving NPC to show up. But hey, first successful group finder experience after two months. I look forward to finding another group in two months from now.

Ps4 eu I use the group finder (healer) and it works.... Some of the time. Get a lot of 3 man groups forming and dps queuing as tanks (don't blame them but causes many wipes) But have had some amazing groups that breeze through everything! And met some great players

Ive never found a whole group, they should offer additional rewards for completion, wouldnt need to be much, but to encourage people to use it.

I do use Group finder first to get the initial 2 DPS tank or healer, then use my contacts to fill the gap.

As another mentioned here I will almost 9 out of 10 tries get 2 DPS and heals or 2 DPS and a tank. It is much easier to find 1 player VS 3 however.

The other issue is that the use of group finder appears to be low if you are a tank or a healer.

The last huge MMO I played was WOW and I used the group finder all the time and it was successful at matching me with other players of my level with the correct class makeup for 5 man dungeons.The success rate was not 100% in WOW. I would think given some time ZOS could tweak and make this system better.

Another note, considering there is no text chat I think the group finder is far more necessary on the console version. Also want to note that finding the healer we are missing or the tank we are missing has not been an issue using voice.

I always use group finder (PC), but out of the last 50 times I've only found a group through it ONCE - the rest of the time it's through zone chat. So group finder isn't entirely broken, but there is still definitely A LOT of room for improvement. Some of the problems are that not enough people use it, or they misuse it (like trolls who "fake" their roles), and together with the long wait it means that less and less people use it.
