Yes it matters... The fight was designed in a certain way, and if nobody is able to beat it that way, then there's clearly a design failure which should be looked at

Ah I see. Well, then they should probably make it easier to beat him this way, but make it harder to just DPS him down.
There is no point in choosing the long way, if there is an easy and fast way.

Most groups won't be able to dps him down. I would say that 97% of groups that try will fail every time. It is an option for a few top tier groups though. That will drive people to try the long way, which is insanely difficult. My group has gotten below 50% 1 time out of 100 tries at it that way.

With this being the pledge, it's going to be near impossible for all but the perfect group. The 2dps, 1 healer, 1 tank setup will not be able to clear this boss using a straight burn. Even groups with 3 dps are going to have trouble. My group has significantly higher than average dps. This is not going to be possible for anyone that has less dps than the group I was in - which is a very very good group.
