Has anyone beaten 2nd boss of Vet Prison while doing the actual mechanics?

I have seen videos of people just burning the boss completely/ aoe burning the atros while completely ignoring the bombs. I have yet to see a video of anybody completing it while doing the actual mechanics of the fight.

I have tried doing this very many times and it seems pretty close to impossible even with a really good group. Any suggestions?

    I think the lack of feedback here speaks volumes. I have been in a group that can clear anything on life with absolute ease. This group has worked our way through difficult content before. Usually when we face an encounter enough times, we will find a strategy that works. This group is not a casual group. This group is used to and thrives on tough content. This group has faced the 2nd boss in Vet Imperial city at least 100 times. We don't feel like we are much closer to beating this boss than our first attempt at it. I believe that we mostly understand the mechanics and should be able to find a strategy that could work.

    The closest that we have come to beating this boss is by completely ignoring all of the mechanics and just burning the boss as hard as possible with 3 dps and 1 tank. We got the boss to <10% using this method and could probably find a way to stretch ourselves and get that last 10%... However... We have not come anywhere close when we were trying to use the bombs and do the actual mechanics. The tenderize seems to turn our best laid plans into a joke.

    I personally will be able to put a group together that can burn the boss through mechanics once it hits live, but I really doubt that we'll see anybody doing this fight legit for a long time.

    Does it matter how you kill a boss, as long as he dies ? :) Without bug exploits of course.

    Yes it matters... The fight was designed in a certain way, and if nobody is able to beat it that way, then there's clearly a design failure which should be looked at

    With this being the pledge, it's going to be near impossible for all but the perfect group. The 2dps, 1 healer, 1 tank setup will not be able to clear this boss using a straight burn. Even groups with 3 dps are going to have trouble. My group has significantly higher than average dps. This is not going to be possible for anyone that has less dps than the group I was in - which is a very very good group.

    The straight burn is not the way they intended this fight either. You can tell that a lot of work went into the mechanics in this fight. If none of the mechanics are coming into play, this should definitely be looked at IMO.

    Most groups won't be able to dps him down. I would say that 97% of groups that try will fail every time. It is an option for a few top tier groups though. That will drive people to try the long way, which is insanely difficult. My group has gotten below 50% 1 time out of 100 tries at it that way.

    I mean, ignoring the bombs and just Aoeing everything down is the easy way. They must make this harder, in order to make it reasonable to try the official way. If AoEing everything down remains easier, nobody will try the official version.

    Beyond infinity did it. Senaxu said it took me 20+ minutes to kill. This was in the original patch tho so it should b easier now.

    same with planar inhibitor and yet nobody has said much about it.
