Gratz Crown on getting all those acheivements...

It's actually not that hard to do - if you do the daily normal and vet pledge every day for a week or two you'll get all those points. The hidden bosses are about 2-3 hours total. Skyshards can be gotten zone by zone in about 30 minutes per zone. The quests in Cadwell's silver and gold are maybe 2-3 hours per zone, so overall it's probably about the same time leveling from VR1 to VR14 as getting all the points. I only have the one character that I play, so anyone with an alt at VR14 has probably put the same time into that character as i did in getting all the skill points on my first. The long / tough one is the pvp levels.. 10 more to go!

It's a combination of strategy, skill, and group depending on when you go for it..

At present I'm PvP alliance rank 40, so have gotten 40 of the 50 possible skill points for PvP.

I have 318 skill points having completed all main quest lines in all three factions, done all the dungeons (normal, vet, and hidden bosses), taken the extra skill points from mage's guild line, and picked up all skyshards.

I don't believe that there are any others that are available, and I haven't heard of anyone with more, so for all the debates and question - here's the probable answer.
That means I'm missing one in this list - as this only adds up to 327... anyone know what I've missed?

well actually there isnt a cap on skill points, you can pass over your mages guild reward through bank and use it on your main. Unless this has been patched.

one could argue all that PVP experience is worth more than a person who spent all their time grinding CP but has no idea how to play well with his/her class in PVP. Just playing devils advocate.

also it must be nice to be able to craft everything you want from one character, and still have all the passives and skills you can get/want.

    Total Skyshards 113
    Mages Guild 2

    * I've contested the 'per level' skill points with the CS, and I really do think they meant it as 62 (level 1 and level 50/vet1 don't get each). Besides, we get 62 attribute points, therefore should be 62 skill points.
    # they missed one, from looks of it.
^ where the hell did that came from?

All in all, the total skill points above is 328 (inclusive of pvp skill points). But as a side note, what is that soul skill line coming from??

anywho, I just thought it is interesting that the TOTAL matches the TOTAL of the OP. just my two cents :).

P.S. For anyone that feels like they're missing an appropriate skill point allocation should contact support. Somehow I knew Canada was behind this.

As a new-ish player, I can see the seams where the Champ Point system was tacked on like an addition to an old house. You know those old stone masonry houses where the home owner has an addition built on but the addition is covered in vinyl siding? It's the point where the monthly sub game went pay-to-own.

    -edit seems to seams lol

Thats wy effectiv there are 328 Skillpoints, but you can only skill max 327 times.

I also done this math and ended up with 327. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

dont you get two SP when you first reach AP level 1/start cyrodil and kill something? one for each skill line you unlock?

at least i did, and presumably 1 per level after that would make 51 at level 50? but i may be completely wrong or mis-remembering i wasn't paying close attention.
@willymchilybily You should only get 1 SP when you reach Alliance Rank 1. I'm not sure where a second one supposedly came from, but if there is a second one there, that would account for the discrepancy.

    * I've contested the 'per level' skill points with the CS, and I really do think they meant it as 62 (level 1 and level 50/vet1 don't get each). Besides, we get 62 attribute points, therefore should be 62 skill points.

Yeah there's definitely something wrong here. There are only 62 skill points for Level/VR increase, because Level 1 doesn't get one, there are 49 for quests, and I don't know what that Soul Skill Line one is either; I've never noticed an extra skill point associated with Soul Magic.
There is. You start at rank 1 without purchasing.

@Crown nice job . Now my question is after speccing your build do you have enough for all crafting ? Do you have many left afterwards ? I don't have the motivation to track em all down yet but if I know I can craft whatever I want without an expensive respec I might just get motivated

to max crafting you will Need ~100 Skillpoints, to skill all Class Skills and passives you Need 60
20 for each weapon 10 for armor - 12 with skill
    Mageguild 20
    Warrior guild 20

well 300 Skillpoints will be enought for anything,

Confirmed: There are 328 skill points in the game
At present I'm PvP alliance rank 40, so have gotten 40 of the 50 possible skill points for PvP.

I have 318 skill points having completed all main quest lines in all three factions, done all the dungeons (normal, vet, and hidden bosses), taken the extra skill points from mage's guild line, and picked up all skyshards.

I don't believe that there are any others that are available, and I haven't heard of anyone with more, so for all the debates and question - here's the probable answer.
That means I'm missing one in this list - as this only adds up to 327... anyone know what I've missed?

Soul Trap definitely comes pre-purchased - Soul Strike is another matter, though

Aren't there certain main quests choices that sometimes give you a skillpoint or not? I think there were like 2?

It has been on another thread. So maybee ... idk

As far as I'm aware, the only skill points that are optional are the 2 in a certain Mages Guild quest where you have to make a decision. All other skill points are given whether you want them or not!

And yet a player with less skill points and more champ points will have a character that is more powerful/useful then the guy with 328 skill points who explored the game world (or am I wrong?).

What a funky character system they have going on here.

Seems like we're better served grinding champ points then hunting down skill points. Mindless grinding > Exploring and Achieving.

Only if your only goal is the "powerful character". If you're willing to grind mindlessly just to get the bits in a particular arrangement on your computer, go ahead. Meanwhile, I'll PLAY the GAME and HAVE FUN.

    This.

There are different ways to play the game, and which you choose will depend entirely on your approach and what you want out of it.

Exactly how I feel about it. Sure, I don't have all the endless CP. I have got well over 200 skill points and am maxed in all three equipment crafting skills, and provisioning, and I'm a fully dedicated tank, and I'm working on getting better as a DPS, and I'm putting points into Alliance War skills. I feel so useful and I can help my guildies with nearly anything they need.

@Junglejim82 I keep points in Blacksmithing and Enchanting, and only the minions for the others. I swap my build around a lot, and usually have enough not to need to respec fully (just morphs). As it stands, I don't have enough to fully flesh out all of crafting. My wife does Clothing and Woodworking, so between the two of us we can make anything.
