    Davon's Watch is also the only major town instantly available to level 3 characters. Tradeoffs.
    What? Pretty sure you can start in Daggerfall or Vukhel Guard as well
    Indeed, Davons Watch is as much a starter town as Vukhel Guard or Daggerfall. Only it has no dye station, that one is in Ebonheart. While the other two do... Stonefalls just divided the things a bit between two towns.
    Its somewhat vexing, but not that big a deal... since you can bypass the questing in between and make your way to ebonheart following the northern coast and doing some swimming if you -really- can't wait to try out a new dye ;)

    Imagine being able to add additional Effects to Metal Armour Pieces such as:
    * Rusted.
    * Chrome.
    * Matte.
    * Polished.

    As far as I can tell on my monitor, we "kind of" have this already, at least to some extent. I noticed the common colors are more of a flat matte finish, and the rare colors are more shiny on the same surface. Anyone else notice that?

    wish we could unlock effects for our weapons that work like dyes.

    like a purple swirl or a red aura that hovers or flows with the weapons and shields.

    healers could have tiny leaves flowing with them as they walk or something.

    nightblades could have a red mist

    dragonknights could have small fires under their feet

    sorcs could have blueish black sparkles

    I sent my Nord mule to Bleakrock just so he could dye his clothes. Furthest from the bank in Davons Watch hes ever been.

    I absolutely love the dye stations in the game, other devs should take note because this feature is an amazing addition!

    I go all girly-girl at the dye stations in a goth sort of way (I prefer dark colours). I have a basic navy blue, hunter green, purple and black all easily attained which I then add brighter colours to liven the mix. I don't wear heavy armor and am not sure I want to dye it since I don't want to look like an exotic insect but I change my colours frequently.

    The problem with Davon's Watch is that it doesn't have a dye station as a starting city whereas Daggerfall and Vulkhel Guard do but all three starter islands have dye stations easily available. From Davon's Watch one must run down to Bal Foyen but that isn't a dangerous trip particulary; about like running to Mistral from Eagle Strand on Khenarthi's Roost.

    Glorious! This is a great suggestion and idea; class identity is very important. Let us make our characters look and feel like their classes! Please!

    Give classes their own emotes too, maybe? /Templar you could then place a number on the end to go through certain emotes if you wanted to.

    But I'm glad the dyes are account-wide. Starting a new alt can be boring, so at least making them look awesome from level 1 is a blessing.
    You what mate?

    Dyes are account-wide? Dammit...are you telling me I spent time deconstructing anything that wasn't nailed down to get Obsidian Black when I'd unlocked it on another character?

    Bah humbug.

    The dye stations are absolutely perfect, easily the most universally-appreciated addition to the game. It was almost universally hailed as an objectively good design decision, minus some input from a few who thought it "broke lore and immersion", despite the fact that the last 3 games have been richly colored. Only thing that bugs me is a lack of Aldmeri Dominion-style yellow with a good luster, like how the rare dyes do it. And how some materials dye "strangely", but I'll take "strangely" over "not at all" every day of the week.

    Dev created drinking game. "where is the dye station in Davons Watch???" ...EVERYBODY DRINK!! :D

    Honestly, I prefer Bal Foyen, it's my home. Almost everything in one building rocks!
    If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

    How often do you change your colors? I find myself playing Barbie / Ken way too often.
    ha only with new pieces but occasionally I'll hit a dye station several times when the gear doesn't look right...when this happens I will say F it and dye everything black. :)

    *sigh*

    The dye station. I've spent hours at this place just picking and choosing color combinations, and never seem to be satisfied as I always find something better.

    I concur. Great addition to the game.

    What a great addition to this game. Anybody with me? Jesus my guy looks legit. Unlocking dyes is so satisfying too.

    Yes. But I spent too much time there. I'm looking forward to when we can dye our shields, and weapons too (hopefully). The dye system in ESO is close to the best you'll find in any MMO. They did well implementing it.

    You can always colour match clothing to shields ;)

    True, and I do try at times! But some shields are less than stellar in their colour style, so that makes the rest of your armour fairly boring and bland looking. And let's face it; the vast majority of players dye their characters darker shades, so it's nice to be a little different and stand out. I love identifying other friends in the game from afar as I know their armour/colour style. It really is a great addition to the game. I hope development have a look at its success and the fundamental mechanics behind it and apply try and apply it other parts of the game. A happy player base is a paying player base after all.

    I love it too, but why didn't anybody mention dying costumes yet? Am I the only one who would absolutely love to dye his costumes from the Crown Store?

    Also, I'm pretty darn sure costumes would sell way better if we could dye them.

    The last game I played you had to pay real money for a single can of paint. This paint could be applied to ONE part of your armour in its secondary or primary spot. So if you had 5 pieces of armour, that's 10 cans of paint. Until recently, they never had a preview option either. Oh, and it was bugged so bad that on some armour, the paint had very little to no effect. AND you could only apply generic colours like black, blue, pink, green, red. The dye stations in eso were so good I almost didn't believe it.

    It is awesome and allows you to set ranks via colors in the guild.

    We have colors schemes for Council, Officers, Blood Ravens and so on which is pretty sweat for group photos.
