Tanking in PTS is amazing

    Agree with these statements:
    'tanking is awesome' I've seen some epic tanks They don't get two-shot anymore.
    'tanking is more challenging' Some guys are (rightly so!) struggling.

    Disagree with all the babble QQ and rage about blocking + stamina Regen. As echoed here quite a bit: It's a needed change!

    You won't get any new PvP players until this archaic AoE crap is fixed.
    I for one won't resub until:
    1.) You fix lag.
    2.) You remove AOE caps we voted against.
    3.) 12 months have passed (this is how long we've waited for you to 'get with it')[/b]

    Needed change for what? PVE? PVE was never easy because of tanking was easy. It was easy because you could use ultimates and high dps to ignore mechanics, and now its easy because you can just out dps content. Also without a cap being placed on the champion system there is no way to stop the "elites" from outleveling and trivializing any content that is made. This nerf is not needed in PVE. it does not make PVE tanking more enjoyable. If after the nerf you find tanking more fun because you have to manage your resources then prior to the PTS you either had enough champion points to ignore resource management, or you were doing it wrong.

    If I have a templar in group on live, I ask them to use spears. I use stam pots on live on cool down. Why? because using those things allow me to use more heroic slashes while keeping up all my dots and buffs, to do more dps and still be able to roll when I need to. On the pts, I will not be able to use all the skills I use on live. I will be doing more just blocking and taunting, and use way less of my other skills. I will have to build all the way for cheaper block as will most tanks (there goes build diversity). Engine guardian will become almost a must for all tanks. Spears become necessary for most casual groups.

    In PVP I don't see where it was necessary either. In group play, you just ignore the tanky players while you kill their group then go back to said tanks, fear them till they die. Every class has a stun that goes through block, and they are all instant in the next update. If you use those stuns as a stam drain, then you will eventually wear the tank down. Block casters do less damage and are imo easier to kill than shield stacking sorcs. If you want to put in a mechanic that reduces damage done while blocking fine, but zero stam regen while blocking is bad. Also even if you aren't a block caster and just block a curse or det that was placed on you, you lose out on a stam regen tick. This is not good for the game. This change is bad.

    So you guys are saying any tank that has to hold up block 24/7 while tanking 4 axes in AA or tanking a large *** Manti in SO is a nub who can't really tank correctly because he constantly holds block? Yea, go try and tank those without holding block please (I dare you) and get back to me how to do it (without spamming Mistform ofc).

    I'm not a tank but doing heavy attacks to regen stamina is a good idea?

    I've only done a couple vet dungeons (mainly white gold and Imperial prison) but I've run with a few different tanks, and its very interesting.

    It seems most tanks have begun to develop their own form/build for tanking and it varies a lot more based on the class, its no longer hold your shield up and dps. I've seen the same bosses all tanked completely differently, and this is what people need to learn. Anyone could throw on heavy armor, inner fire, and hold block all day. Now, much like DPS, tanks have to make different builds to suite their play-style, its no longer mindless and there is actually theory crafting for tanking.

    I could disclose the different tanking strategies but I wouldn't want everyone to copy and paste the build, because thats what everyone does.

    I agree in PVE, tanking is much more fun with the new blocking rule.

    But did you try in PVP?

    I hate the new tanking. I now have a solid PTS tanking build that is fully self sustainable. I can block 5+ mobs while upkeeping a buff and taunt rotation. I tested it soloing the Prison add pulls. Long add pulls are the biggest stam drains.

    The new tanking is just managing three resource pools the whole fight. Tanks are more restricted to just holding block and taunting while upkeeping resources to do so. The builds are gimpy. The play style is less interactive. There is LESS diversity possible now. Common sense says what works in 2.1 would work in 2.0, but a large majority of 2.0 build are no longer possible. You only see diversity now because people are trying things out.

    No.
    I can say Yes for any content except HMs but in easy content tanks are able to damage, heal, eat, drink, watch TV and so on.
    If you will do such things on HM Axes you will fail soon.

    I couldn't tell whether to laugh or cry at the OP's post. Is this a joke or a troll or sarcasm? Tanking on PTS has become terrible. Eric Wrobel fun isn't fun at all. It's all very tedious and monotonous and dull. I miss half of what's going on because I have to stare at my stamina bar to be certain it's getting refilled somehow. Pretty certain now this is a joke/troll post.
    Yea its a troll post the regular supporters of the Stamina Regen Nerf are here extolling this nerf's greatness.

    I do agree, tanking in live its kind of to easy right now. This is a good first step to make tanking more challenging. I could like to see changes to current gameplay to make DPSing more challenging. With challenging i meant instead of finding the best boring rotation to max dps, i could like that trails and similar content could be less about who does the highest dps while standing, and more movement, dodging, interrupting while doing dps. More similar to vet dungeon (the earlier version).

    I find dpsing right now to be the most boring of the three roles (mostly in trials though).

    Yes. It's easier day by day due to champion points gain. But it's not the reason to nerf tanks. All we need is new content that's available in Imperial City to make our play harder and fun. That's all.
