Templar Magicka Guidance and Help Please

JayKay
JayKay
Hi all,

Character details:

Templar (Breton)
Vet level 6
Xbox One: Ebonheart

Build:

Bar one:

Puncturing Sweep
Blazing Shield
Reflective Light
Purifying Light
Breath of Life
Nova (Ultimate)

Bar two:

Mix and match, don't really use bar two as i pretty much always solo and ain't really felt the need to switch to bar two atm.

I have put around 70% points into Magicka and 30% into Health.

Gear:

Bit of a mix and match of mainly light, nothing special just basic drops from mobs.

Weapon one: Destro Staff
Weapon two: Resto Staff

I have almost maxed out all of my professions, blacksmithing, clothing etc etc.

My aim is to start doing some dungeons (ain't done one yet....lol)

I want to stay as a pure magicka build with staffs

Help i am looking for...................

Can the build i am using on bar one be improved? (must keep Breath of Life, it's my get out of jail card...hehe)

For the second bar i wish to use that as a healing bar, any ideas on a good setup?

I am looking to craft my own armor and weapons so any thoughts on a good set to craft where you can get the mats without doing any dungeons?

Also for the crafted set what would be the best traits for each piece (this bit goes right over my head...lol)

And what would be the best enchants based on my build?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry for all the questions, i ain't the best when it comes to the technical stuff, i just like killing things B)

p.s I have probably missed something out so feel free to ask away :)

All the best

Thanks, think i have seen that before, gonna give it a whirl with a few adjustments like this build:

    http://eso-skills.com/skill/index.html?z=1D7JBGeV@4Yg8xZC%DSgTPjh@DTi4dh+

Don't think i will have the gear he/she has anytime soon :p

Just gotta figure out what is a good craftable set but think i have summed up the gear with the following:

    Item-Type-Trait-Enchant

    Head: Light/Well Fitted/Magicka
    Shoulder: Light/Divine/Magicka
    Chest: Light/Infused/Magicka
    Hands: Light/Divine/Magicka
    Waist: Light/Divine/Magicka
    Legs: Light/Infused/Magicka
    Feet: Light/Divine/Magicka
    Necklace: Arcane/Spell Cost Reduction
    Ring 1 & 2: Arcane/Spell Cost Reduction
    Weapon 1 & 2: Nirn

    Champion Points

    The Apprentice
    23 x Blessed
    6 x Elfborn
    1 x Spell Erosion

    The Ritual
    Rest into Thaumaturge

Do i know what i am on about? nope, trial and error i suppose :)

There are two kinds of healing, your self and your group or others around you. I see no need to use a Healing staff for healing on a Templar, the class skills are more than enough. Quite frankly, if you need any healing when using Puncturing Jabs, then cast Breath of Life. Me, I run a destro staff on both bars on my templar. Slot 1 is Inner Light on both bars, and Slot 5 is Breath of Life on both bars (so I never forget where it is). It is the middle 3 that I switch out. One bar uses Reflective Light as a starter, then puncturing jabs and some other attack skill that I switch in and out (usually have Purifying Light on). This is my DPS/Boss bar.

Then on the second bar, I use Elemental Ring, Crushing Shock and some other AoE skill and this is my trash mob/public dungeon bar.

If your running a group dungeon with others, I would make one bar more healing focused using Class skills only, again, no need for a Resto Staff here. Note, Heavy Attacks restore magic using a Resto Staff, so that might work in your favor, but not for the way I play.

For armor, I use 5 Piece Seducer and 3 Piece Torugs Pact (although you can use just about anything for the 3 piece). I have extra spell cost reduction from the Champ System. I also use Syrbane Bands for rings, and a generic magic necklace. All Jewlerly has Rekuta based Spell Cost Reduction glyphs on them.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
