Why Are Console ESO Players Treated Differently Than PC/Mac ESO Players?

Hi, I've been thinking about this for some time now. See, I've been playing ESO since the beta days on Mac. And since have been playing it on console (PlayStation 4), and have been noticing that us (console players) tend to be stragglers to the PC/Mac community. Here, allow me to explain. The PC/Mac maintenance is kept regular, and done in order to make sure its severs are running at optimal performance. Meanwhile, we console players tend to receive maintenance every here and there. Why is this? Why can we not receive a regular schedule for our server's maintenance? Or perhaps the patching of bugs/exploits. They're done incredibly fast for the PC/Mac users, but not so much on console. Why is that? And no, I'm not trying to spark a "Console VS. PC/Mac Flame War". I'm simply wondering what the issue is, and hopefully can get a detailed answer from a moderator. Because it's clear that the support console gets is WAAAAY different than the support given to those on a PC/Mac, and that's not right. We sat there, and we paid our hard-earned money to Zenimax. As did the PC/Mac users. We sat there, and some of us purchased ESO Plus. Again, just as some did for the PC/Mac version of the game. So why is it we're being mistreated this way? Elder Scrolls Online is a MMORPG that I've grown to like for some time now, and made an effort to make it apart of my daily schedule. However, this ongoing mistreatment NEEDS to cease. It's not right, and it's unfair to those who paid money to play a product that is supposed to work.

For me I have noticed the opposite there have been far less maintenance for PC since the console release.

You can see announcements each week where the PC servers will not be taken offline for a patch/restart but the consoles have their weekly scheduled downtimes for new patches.

Also if there is nothing or them to take it offline for why would they do so?

They get the same love each, just at different times.

PC/Mac users had it rough at launch too with server performance, glitches, lag, and other things. Now the game has stabilized on PC/Mac, but consoles have to go through a tuning period too so sorry that you feel that way right now, but ride the waves, the ups and downs, and it'll all be good =)

Why do you guys make a post about maintenance every single week. By now you should be well aware they are alternating maintenance times, yet these posts are still being made. Also, just a little fun fact, consoles are getting the maintenance this week. So please hide this post, let whatever pc guys who's going to complain do his thing, and then you can make this post public again next week.

Not true at all. PC's now get maintenance like every 2 weeks instead of once a week. Today is prime example just look above. No PC maintenance, but doing console maintenance. They are probably understaffed and can't do it to all platforms simultaneously so they have to take turns.

And @Messy1 not really true either. Everytime they skip a maintenance, servers get laggy and glitchy. You will notice that often this forum starts to flood with lag and issue posts when maintenance is not performed, so PC servers are far from being smoothed out yet.

Well, the consoles certainly NEED a maintenance, after this weekend. Basically, all weekend the console NA servers have been not letting players log in and booting players constantly. I couldn't even go into or out of a smugglers den or dungeon without it booting me at least once.

Man the early days of PC ESO were rough. Real rough. You name it, it went wrong. There were a lot of unannounced patches and fixes. When they knew how to fix it, they patched it a week later. It usually took a couple weeks to find a fix for the bigger things. I imagine the same things are going on with console to a lesser degree.

I could be wrong but I think they are doing smaller patches on consoles because of how everyone was complaining how big the patches were at start. Playing on PC am not positive about this but it would make sense.

Aside from the usual garbage, keep in mind that patches and updates have to go through Sony and Microsoft's approval process.

Also you guys act like PC is getting coddled right now. Lol we're not. We were left out in the cold after Craglorn while the brunt of the studio was working on making this game playable on consoles.

consider some of what they want to change may need to have permissions from Sony or Xbox but otherwise, the treatment is different because ZOS is not fully in control of the console platforms of their product due to the partnership with each.

There is an obvious lack of information that ZOS has about each console and that's seen on the forums in staff responses which are later adjusted and/or corrected. There seems to be a learning curve that only began 45 days prior to console release on each consoles inner workings and how this game would perform and adjusts to those features.

The other side of the coin is that more than likely (assumptions) due to changes that have and will occur within ZOS, we should expect different approaches from what we've seen in the past and whats to come.

It was on PC for a long time but now there are three platforms to handle.

What I've noticed is that one week there is PC/Mac maintenance (NA and EU servers on separate days) and the next week there is Console maintenance (again X-Box and PS4 on separate days)

maintenance isn't that big a deal but it's most likely because there are a lot more players on console than pc/mac.

the big issue though is the DLC delay and the fact that literally all weekend the game was broken, and most likely still is.

Actually what is funny is that even though PC is awesome, on console I see the game more polished than it is on PC, for example: the fire pit right at the underground entrance to the Rawl'kha outlaw refuge on PS4 works as a Provisioning fireplace but on PC it does not work.. in the Rift, in Riften, one of the Inn's has a bosmer woodelf (I think its a bosmer woodelf) with a pencil and clipboard that walks around on the top floor where the safebox appears, so it makes it more difficult to just walk into the room and pick the lock, on PC the same elf never moves from a bookcase in the other room. I could go on but this is just a few things of the many things I have come across as differences between PC and Console (PS4) and it kinda annoys me when PC doesn't get maint. updates at times.

Now, these things are small and do not seem important but none the less when you been playing on PC since early access and then go to the console you can see some of the issues/ QOL (quality of life) updates haven't been updated yet in the PC.

I'm waiting for this to happen..

Just kidding anyway , I'm Hybrid Master Race , got a PS4 for Bloodborne and enjoy it (just wish was 60 fps still ), Rocket League is fun , and wanted to dabble in ESO on PS4 but not going to deal with no text chat , also I can remap controls in other games on the PS4 , not here though , and I don't do well with silly limitations like that.
