My point comes from many of my PC guildies who did all the silver +gold Quests and some Cyrodiil quests, yet still had to mob grind for the last 3 VR levels. I see this as a problem that there isn't enough solo quest for a player to reach true endgame.I couldn't disagree more. I've been playing on PS4 since it came out and I'm just enjoying the quests and story on my own pace. I'm on veteran rank 7 doing quests on a rank 4 area. Leveling is fine the way it is, I don't feel like I'm grinding at all.
That is until you reach the end of questing and have to grind zombies to level. The questing will only take you to VR10. This is the main focus of my thread(1)
So have you done everything in craglorn and all the quests in cyrodiil too then?
No need to take offense pal
I'm waiting for IC patch to level my console toons. .
No offense taken, was merely a question because you said you've exhausted all the quests at vr10 and you didn't answer my question. I just find it a bit far fetched.

Skill vs time.
Wrong, mmo's are all about the grinding and gear, the person that plays more and gets that great gear should always have the upper hand. Sounds like moba's are more up your alley.

Not to mention if your on console its a huge pain to group for anything without text. On ps4 2% of players have completed their starting factions 5 dungeons. Like wtf an mmo without group play?

I mentioned Destiny once...
ESO is a proper MMO, and as such Questing is a hefty part of the formula.
After reading your OP and responses several times to make sure I had captured all the nuances of your arguments, it has become apparent to me that (IMO) you were expecting more of a FPS/MOBA than a proper MMO when you came to ESO.
It also seems that (based off of those proclivities), you joined Guilds and made friends with people who are/were also expecting quick-leveling FPS's/MOBA's, and thus left once they realized that ESO was none of those.
It is quite possible that ESO (as well as many other proper MMO's [which does not include Destiny]) simply is not the game for you.
I can easily agree with this.Uriel_Nocturne wrote: »But your entire post makes it seem as if you came to ESO expecting it to be more like a MOBA or FPS than a proper MMO.You sit here and compare everything to Destiny as if it's some magical perfect MMO. I think a similar issue runs through a good portion of the console community. They didn't quite realize what ESO actually was.
Players run through the content where build and role don't matter and suddenly find themselves in places where those thing matter greatly. It's a shock to them. However I can't say the game actually does anything to steer players toward a good spot for endgame either.

Let me get this out of the way, this is not a thread about me raging over the game, rather me voicing my opinions and ideas to HELP the game.
1. Veteran Ranks- I'm not going to go on talking about what has been said over in a thousand threads. VR's are killing ESO on consoles. All my friends are just burnt out of questing. All but 1 have quit. 7 guilds I had joined at launch are now COMPLETELY dead due to VRs.(And lack of communication) The time required to reach VR14 is ridiculous. That doesn't even go over the fact that questing in ALL the zones doesn't even get you to VR14! You still have to grind mobs to get xp.
-Solution- Exactly what ZOS has planned. Scrap VR's and just have the champion system(with seasons and catch up mechanics of course). Allow players to hit 50, and have the option to do silver+gold for champion points, nothing else. This needs to be added asap. Console players are used to games mmos like Destiny and FX where it doesn't take hundreds of hours to hit cap.
2. Lack of communication(No text chat)- I don't know how many of the devs actually main on consoles, but the lack of communication is mind-boggling. Let's say you join 5 guilds. In order for a guild to ask you if you want to do a delve, you have to manually join the voice chat. Most likely, out of the 100 players in the guild, MAYBE 2 will be in the voice chat. This is only for one guild of the five. So either you end up messaging the entire guilds via console messaging or the gm spams a new message of the day. Most guilds don't even talk to each other because of the lack of communication tools.
-Solution- ADD TEXT CHAT. Please. It is 100% needed. What about deaf players? We need it. If I have to join one more Cyrodiil pug via a guy screaming " COME TO STEPS FOR INVITE" I am going to scream.
3. Battle Leveling- I pvp'd from level 10 to 45 and had an absolute blast in Cyrodiil(apart from no text chat). We were all even and didn't have champion points or VR's to rely on, only our pvp prowess. Then I hit VR1 and que'd for Cyrodiil and was destroyed by VR14's from PC who have insane gear and champion points. It just isn't fun. That was the last time I went to Cyrodiil.
Solution-Battle leveling needs to be in all campaigns, not just non vet. At least give me a fighting chance.
I doubt I will be playing ESO for much longer. I just hope that when I return that these problems are fixed.
I really do love the Zos team. It is awesome to see them come on ESO live and answer these questions and for the most part, the team has been straight forward. I would just appreciate if the team acknowledges these as problems on consoles. And trust me, they are HUGE problems. (WE NEED TEXT CHAT)
I hope my fellow ESO players show some support, especially fellow console players.
Thanks everyone!
The time to level in this game is ridiculous. For a casual player wanting to play casually a few hours a night (PvE or PvP) the time to get to max level shouldn't be any longer than a month-- maybe two if you want to stick it to them. After that the vast majority of a person's time should be enjoying end game, gearing and fine tuning, and/or leveling new toons for the fun of a change in class/build. And for new toons, you shouldn't have to repeat the exact same tedious content already completed for your first vet. This game's forced leveling grind is so F'd up it's not funny.

I've never understood the point of reaching "the highest level"... for what? People complain that they have no 'end game content' when the fact is, they've RUSHED through and/or skipped the majority of CONTENT just because they thought some magical event was waiting for them at the end... but when has this ever been the case in ANY MMO?!? In every MMO, once you get to the top, then you're just WAITING for the next DLC release... and what happens, those same players complaining about lack of content RUSH through the new DLC, so they can sit and complain a couple more months about no content. It just boggles my mind how people make choices and then complain that it is the FAULT of the game.
