They're making some pretty notable changes by changing skill effects, making a magic morph a stamina morph, etc. which impacts our builds that we properly planned based off of the current setup...permanent choices that we've made and they're changing those choices without us having any say besides restarting.
I'm all for the "make your bed and sleep in it" thing but when they change the bed beneath us then they should give us the option to remake the bed.

I know this will likely fall on deaf ears but I had to say something after looking over the patch notes.

They always give a free respect whenever they implement changes that drastically change skills. Failing that you can reset your morphs yourself for super cheap.

Respecs use to be much, much more expensive, but now they are pocket change ...

I take it you haven't tried out the PTS? Everything is reset automatically with the patch, meaning you have to go and assign all of your skill points from fresh. Personally I would much prefer it if they left everything where it was, but gave you a period of time after the patch in which you could respec for free.

I haven't tried PTS but I hope that carries over to the main game...hopefully not an automatic reset but rather s 1 time free respec.

This would absolutely be the best way to go about giving players a respec period.

I'll put on my monocle and top hat and say, It's rather rude to reset all my skills so I have to re-assign them all again. Good day.

It's an automatic reset, unfortunately. In this case, because of the scope of the changes, they will unassign all your skill points.

In other instances, when they made changes to just one or two skill lines (like 2H and DW a while back), they will refund the skills for those trees only.

I wish there was a + - option to assign skill points when respeccing rather than getting everything back and having to remember which passives you used.

Usually when ZOS makes changes that effect skills and morphs, there has been a free respec and I have no doubt we will see one again. Currently it's that way on the PTS and I expect we will see it on Live when the IC is released.

You do get a free respec, but unfortunately it's forced upon you and not optional. I would rather see, as others have said, either a period of free respecs at the shrine, or a free respec scroll for eaxh character.

@WhiskeyRiver.AZub17_ESO Your alliance capital is Elden Root, not Vulkhel Guard. Look for this icon on the map: 20px-ON-icon-Shrine.png and you should find the Shrines of Auriel (Attributes) and Stendarr (Skills).

Why is this even a big deal? The cost to respec is minimal. If you can't afford a few K to respec you're doing something wrong

I only discovered what the rededication shrine is for after posting this topic. B)

The point still stands that if they make changes then they should let us respec for free which seems to be the case.

Well, I don't know where it is for Aldmeri (btw Vulkhel Guard isn't your capitol), but for Ebonheart there's a shrine in Mournhold in Deshaan (the area that starts at level 17+). There's also a similar shrine for attribute reset as well.

On PTS attributes are kept, but all skillpoints have been reset. I guess that's how it will be on live too.

While I agree that the forced respec is annoying, in this case, a period of free respecs instead of forcing it would actually screw me, since I'm going on a 2-week vacation starting the day before the update.
What they really need to do is give people free respec vouchers or something (character-locked) that can be used any time, but are consumed on use.

Power level to CP160 in a week:
Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.
