Mine is personally Rivenspire of Daggerfall because the wayshrine is super close to: the crafting stations, bank, outlaw's refuge & you can easily farm clothier materials there.

You mean Shornhelm in Rivenspire. That one's my favorite too, for the reasons you list and also just because I like the architecture style, and I like the way the city is built following the topography of the land - it leads to a much more interesting city layout with the upper district and the lower district. My DC characters all get parked there in between adventures.

Rawl'kha in Reaper's March is popular for obvious reasons (it's by far the most convenient city in terms of crafting stations, bank, vendors, guild vendors, dye station, and outlaw refuge all being very close to the wayshrine), and that's where I park my AD characters.

My EP characters stay in Windhelm. I don't have a great reason for that, I just kind of like Windhelm. Maybe it's nostalgia for the murders I solved there when playing Skyrim, and maybe it's because the whole city is having a party.

    Mournhold.

I step from the wayshrine and the public toilets are right there.

The roasted High Elf grill is right there.

The Wood Elf ear necklace shop is just around the corner.

The Khajiit rescue home just down the street.

Both places are always filled with the life of other players, there are tons of services. Vulkjell Guard is my main place for banking and crafting for some reason, and at Mistral you have good s ervices, plus the beaches to run for tons of stuff.Chests all over, mats, etc.

2nd floor Elden Root...every crafting station, the dye station and bank are all conveniently in a big circle and there's always people buying/selling goods in there.

I've finally been to Rawl'Kha and I don't see how people prefer that to Elden Root in the same alliance.

    For crafting, Bal Foyen.

For just quickly running to the bank and out again, Rawlk'ha and Shornhelm.

For quick vendoring, Mournhold or Belkarth.

    For horse riding lessons Stormhold.

It's much much faster and easier to get to every service you need in Rawl'kha than in Elden Root. That's partly because in Elden Root the wayshrine is on a different level, so you have to sprint (can't ride your horse because all of Elden Root counts as an interior space) to the door that takes you to the other level, and then sprint from there, probably running out of stamina and slowing down along the way. It's also partly because Rawl'kha has a wide selection of guild traders, and due to the popularity of the location they're always held by serious trading guilds, so they've always got a wide selection of items for sale. The only advantage Elden Root has over Rawl'kha is the presence of respec shrines and the Undaunted enclave.

True you do have to first go upstairs but it's personally easier for me once I'm in there as I usually only go when I'm overloaded and have a bunch of crafting to do. The fact that the bank is in the same room as all of the stations makes it much easier as I tend to have to hit the bank several times to manage inventory when deconstructing items...in Rawl I would have to go in and out of the bank more times then it would take the 1 load screen to go upstairs in Elden Root.

If I wanted to window shop guild trader then Rawl'Kha would definitely be the better spot (Marbruk is good for that too as all of the traders are lined up near the bank).

Very surprised Velyn Harbor isn't more popular. Wayshrine, hop to stables, skip to town center with crafting and bank. Almost as easy as Rawl'ka without the noise.

It was rivenspire purely for the ease, but got to riften in gold last week and it's ideal. Woodwork, clothier and Smith under one roof, bank next door, cooking fire next to the fire, enchanting table next to that.

I also loved skyrim so that helps.

The ambient music there is great too
