✭✭✭The most amusing part of these types of threads are the people who respond like it was actually a serious request, when it's more obvious than something obviously obvious that the discussion at hand couldn't be more obvious it's entirely tongue in cheek.
When called out these people then claim they knew all along that it was a tongue in cheek thread, but well, like the obvious obvious above, it's obvious they didn't realise it was all said in jest. It used to be like me with females during my teens. My mates would all tell be 'x' female was interested in me and I would still be oblivious to it even though she could have it printed on her forehead and her cleavage in my face. ✭I want to apologize in advance for being serious in this thread, but I can't help it. I'm old and cranky, so there.
Anyways, I would like the option to hide every piece of gear WITH THE RESTRICTION that no more than 2 or 3 pieces of gear can be hidden at most.
That way, the hide shoulders crowd (including me) is happy. The hide pants crowd (who want the Hoplite look in their Imperial armor) is happy. The hide chest crowd is happy, too (this makes the most sense in light of the fact that - as it stands now - body markings in the character creation screen just make no sense since you'll never see them).
Oh, and what about those of us who would really like to play the barefoot monks we used to play in other ES titles? Well, we'd be happy, too.
And so on.

But you can do this w/o costumes.
Theres a group called The Naked Nords (entirely fitting with TES lore) who play, including PvP, wearing only helm, bracers and boots. All those who want to play naked have the courage of your convictions, do so, and don't demand invisible armour.

✭✭If you want to play naked I dont have a problem with this as long as I can see the real armour of any character. I dont like it that you can wear a cloth costume over heavy armour and have no hope that this will change any time soon, but when I see a naked enemy, he should have zero armour and not wear full plate beneath his skin.1 -

Yeah, that's what I always type as well...Don't want to wear armor? Don't wear armor. You shouldn't get the benefits of armor without wearing armor.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't really mind mature themes and/or nudity at all, and would like to see maybe more theme-appropiate underwear happen (linen loincloth, anyone?). Even "Age of Conan" style upper body nudity for girls I wouldn't mind seeing in ESO. Heck, I wouldn't even mind more nudity then that, but lets stay realistic... also, while it could be funny to see guys with their privates swinging in the wind now and then (Naked Nord quest, I am thinking of you), people being people we all know how that one would end... though they could make a lot of crowns selling "dangly bit size enhancements" I wager
Anyways, as long as people who want to show it off have to take off their armor to do it, I'm game for more nudity. Oh, and maybe get a little talkin to by the guards if they disrobe in the middle of town square...

The guards don't care. In fact, there is an ACHIEVEMENT for getting a guard to disrobe you.1 -

Soulsix✭✭For many, the burden of armor and silk robes is just too much. Some of us just want to feel the natural breeze between our knees. It's a serious issue plaguing multitudes of players every day, making them suffer extreme chafing and discomfort. I propose that we fix this terrible tragedy and introduce a naked costume immediately.
With the naked costume, players would finally be able to enjoy all the benefits of their uncomfortable armor with all the luxury of being in their undergarments. With only our underwear, we can all finally rest easy knowing that the chafing will be over and our stab wounds will be entirely worth it... It's up to you, ZoS... Only you can stop the chafing.
