Trap Beast also procs blood magic under special circumstances. I wasn't able to reconstruct it, but sometimes Trap Beast bugs and explodes for it's explosion damage each second as long as your enemy is caught, each explosion triggering blood magic.
And players can see the trap, but will they see a red circle ? I'm not sure, I think they don't see a red circle. The trap is fairly small and hard to see when there is gras and so on.
I don't see this ability being very usefull in pvp though, useless against any ranged players. You might be able to trap a melee here and there, but they have too much stamina to ever accept this and Beast Trap is not as easy to use as Talons for example
I'm going to use it in my pve dps build. Because this crit damage is no debuff, it is a buff. This means, as long as one target is affected by the trap, you deal 12% more crit against all targets. Rearming trap lasts almost 15 seconds.
I'm going to trap one trash mob and then attack other targets.
Besides this 12% crit bonus, trap beast is extremely underpowered damage wise, even against undead. It's not worth using it for anything but that bonus.

I don't know why. But when I first had the idea to use Beast Trap in pvp, I expected it to be an undodgeable root against Vampire players. I thought, they couldn't dodge it. I was proved wrong though
You could do a lot, make it so, that Vampires and Werewolf can't just roll dodge it instantly. For example forcing them to stay in it for 3 seconds until they can dodge it. Beats Trap is not spamable unlike Encase or Talons, so why not ?
They also should increase the explosion damage and especially the DoT effect against undead.
The question is: Did Zenimax intend on this being used in pvp ? There are abilities in the game, that are meant to be used for pve or pvp. If this is intended to be used for pve only, then we can forget improvements to its pvp performance.
This other morph, that allows you to place it at range, can be usefull for snipers.
Place the trap, while it aims charge your snipe and profit from and increased initial hit if it crits. Though I can only see this being usefull against players in pvp villages who are talking to an NPChaha

Seems fair cause the trap does take I think 2 or 3 seconds to arm to begin with so seems fair that you can't roll out of it for 2 or 3 seconds.
