Dps is boring

People just rotate thought the same skills thought the whole battle while the poor healer has to keep them alive since nobody bothers too leave the red circle under them.
Don't you guys agree that this is incredible boring?
Maybe too make the dps role more exiting, after casting an offensive skill, the requiered resource stops to regenerate for a few seconds.
That way people are encouraged to use lights or even heavy attacks, which restores stamina/magicka, maybe roll dodging out of the red circle or even use block to protect themself from that evil little mob over there. :)

It be more fun if the healer would let them die because they didn't move out of the red circles

No. I love sitting in the red annoying the healer... it is awesome. Best thing since PBJ.

    PS.
On a more serious note. People who actually know how to DPS have fun doing it. Please ZOS do not in any way try to make DPS more fun like new tanking. We beg you. To much fun than some of us could ever take. Think about . Some people here are relatively well aged. Do not make this DPS more exciting like the new tanking.. It may just be to much for the heart of some people.

Good dps will know in which red circles they can stand without causing problems for the healer and which they have to leave. Additionally most dps will use a light or partly charged heavy attack after every skill they use, so no need to encourage that even more.

healing is just as boring, you're mostly spamming healing springs.

tanking is just as boring, all you do is hold block and spam your taunt.

really, all the roles are pretty cookie cutter. Just look up a fotm the min / maxers posted and spam the couple of skills that work. Occasionally move out of the red, rinse, repeat.

Not sure what the point of the post is.

Most dps i run into in pugs are terribad on console.

I find dpsing well with animation cancelling is more challenging then tanking or healing.

On console people have terrible builds, hybrid builds, and stand in the stoopid all the time. I love laying the smack down with my stamina blade, or crushing with my frag-out sorc. No desire to play a healer or tank. DPS is fun and I do try to stay alive and not blame my healer.

o forgot say they will blame the tank for taunt only the boss, 2 mini bosses and 19 of the 20 skeletons arround, that skeleton rebeld killed them

For somone who is GOOD at dps, it is alot of fun. Between managing your resources, staying out of red circles/cones/donuts, positioning yourself, dodge and blocking and bashing when necessary, and all while trying to keep your buffs and rotation up? Lots of fun! Most are just to lazy to manage all that.

be a dps/heal role (at same time)
    heal/tank (at same time)

heaps of fun on a sorc :)

they need to make the red circles far more dangerous, so some just flat out kill the lazy dps in 1 shot.

We'll see how boring it is then when you have to actually move.

Yeah, agreed. I might not be doing 10k or 20k damage, but I move around and rotate through a few skills. I am limited to 5 per bar, so it's not like I get a lot to work with (just like everyone else).

Hmmm... 10 skills, 2 ultimates. Yeah, going to rotate through the same set of skills all the time, no matter if you're a DPS, Tank, or Healer.

Between fights, you might just switch some skills in or out, but in the fight, it'll be the same 10 at most.

Thank god they didn't Nerf it in PvE.

Thats because there is only one role DPS. DPS with a heal and DPS with a taunt. Zenimax kept dumbing down the mechanics and watering down the CC. this is nothing new

I enjoy DPS, and I pride myself on the fact that the heals don't have to be good for me to be able to stay alive while having reasonably high damage output, due to the fact that I roll dodge and cloak when i need to.

Once when I was on my tank, I had a DPS raging at me and getting all angry at me, because he would run into a group, go all spinny blades on them, and then quickly die. He was blaming me for poor tanking, but it's not my fault that he didn't know how to roll dodge, or for that matter, do anything other than spam steel tornado. So yes, some DPS' are stupid and do it in a boring way, but not all of us.

Good DPS weave both Light and Heavy Attacks into their rotation. They maintain debuffs, dots, and buffs. And they dodge and block as well. Just because some are bad at their job doesn't mean everyone should be punished for it.

Furthermore, the game is low feedback with a minimalistic HUD. I cannot 100% blame people for being bad with a sloppy rotation when the game does little to tell them they are doing bad.

I think its a matter of playstyle. I myself would find DPS boring in general, reason why I dont play one.
In dungeons the role of tanks and healers are more satisfying to me.
Big fat Nord Dragon knight with a huge hammer. - Tank
Stealthy argonian witch templar - Healer (lowbie)

I'd say DPS is boring if u don't know what you're doing. With the minimalist UI we have on console you really can't blame people for being terribad. When you get no numbers to show how much DPS you're doing its more work than most want to do to get the most out of their builds.

    Yes i like OPS idea

In current state of game DPSing is boring and non attractive. All dpses do is use same skills over and over again.
Also high DPS makes dungeons boring because they can burn trought bosses so fast that they skip all mechanics.
This makes dungeons boring and makes people quit game.

ZOS should take care of DPSes and make them feel less boring.

Nice solution would be that after dealing X amount of damate within timeframe (like 10k during 2 seconds) all resources of DPS would stop replenishing for next 5 seconds.

This should make DPSing less boring, im sure ZOS would be happy with this change. Because its ZOS who should happy, not the players who actually play game.

    Sorry, you may not.

Because apparently its not the players who decide whats "fun" for them and what is "boring". Its not the players who actually play those classes decide on that.

Its Mr. Eric Wrobel who decides what is fun and what is boring for every single class in game.

And of course when he will decide on "whether DPSing is fun or not" he will of course rely on feedback coming only from Healers and tanks (not the actual people who have something to do with DPS). When he will now take aim on healers, the only feedback he will accept is from DPSes and tanks who never tried to heal in their lifetime. And of course when Mr. W will be making just judgement what is "fun" for tanks, he will only accept feedback from DPSes who never tanked before and only experience with tanks they have is "that guy who dont die in one hit when i try to snipe him".
