Steam and Non-Steam players playing together?

As the title suggests, I am wondering whether I would be able to play with my friend if he got ESO on steam since I do not have the game on Steam. I am assuming that he would but I'm checking just in case.

Any help would be appreciated

Yes, all PC players play on the same two servers (NA and EU). There's no real difference between Steam and non-Steam versions besides the obvious.

never used steam, so not sure if they sell them all but....
The game is split into 6 megaservers.
    Play station NA (north america)
    Play station EU (europe)
    XBox NA
    XBox EU
    PC/mac NA
    PC/mac EU

Steam itself is "just" a reseller. If your friend is on the same megaserver you can play together.

Through me you pass into eternal pain:
Through me among the people lost for aye.
