NEW IDEA: - Trade House with "sees-all-things"

So the idea of the trade house is this:

Right now we have guild vendors, theyre ok, but you have no idea of knowing what is on what and where meaning they are under used and quite pointless in some locations.

Introducing the TRADE HOUSE.

The trade house would be located in each major city for each faction, its a house you visit and speak with the Mystical Argonian "Sees all things"

by interacting with "Sees all things" you are given a search menu like the ones on guild vendors, but "sees all things" literally searches all guild vendors.

BUT and its a big but, you cannot buy anything from Sees all things, it is a search tool to find/locate items you need, you then get a match on your search, it gives a price, location and guild vendor name... off you pop and go buy it.

This keeps guild vendors relevant no matter where they are, and also allows traders to sell to EVERYONE not just passing players in the area.

i dont see any downside to it, and its not an auction house per se.

I'm pretty sure this has been suggested before....Obviously not exactly as you have described, but close.

HAve no issue with it. As long as you can not buy/sell from it, and it's effectively a "look up" directory, cool :)

The question mark most will throw up however, is the DB Search and display load it would cause on the servers.

The main downside is that it continues to lock participation in the trading system behind guild membership. Also, are you intending that it should be available in all zones or only the higher level ones where the main cities are to be found? If the latter, then it also locks out lower level players which is another downside.

For there to be an effective trading system it needs to be open to all, irrespective of level, alliance, and artificial barriers such as guild membership. It doesn't need to involve an auction house, as the present system could be amended to allow for non-guild members to use certain traders at a higher commission rate and with the commission shared between the guilds operating in those locations. However, the present system is defective in so many ways that a fresh start would probably be preferable.

This would be like a global action house. Everybody would see the lowest price and buy there. somebody who wants to selll something have to ask "see all things" befor what the lowst price is and than offer it in their store. So you get a servewide actionhouse, just with more effort for placing things.

The current systems advantage is: you never now, if you are really the ceapest at the server, so you can try to be cheap with your offer, but that wont help you. There is no circle of undercutting.
With your idea, you will get exactly this circle...

The house would be visible to all in each major city regardless of level.

whilst i appreciate the guild comments, this is an mmo, ZOS made it so guild vendors are the only way you can sell things, im just working with the current system.

i think you've just described the concept of a free market and capitalism.

How are you defining "each major city"? That was my point. No good having it so you can see it at all levels if the lower levels can't access it. If you mean, for example, it would be in Vulkhels Guard for Auridon then that's fine.

I appreciate that the game is an MMO, but all core elements of an MMO should be accessible to all and the trading system is a core element in all MMOs. Not only that, but it's only a percentage of guild members that can sell from the traders at any one time anyway.

From among other auction houses ideas i like this one.

Search only. No buy, no sell. I like it.

Could have some gold fee that would be charged only if the searched item have been found.

I love this idea....sees-all-things should charge you gold to perform his "trick".
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

While this is a great idea, I don't see ZOS implementing it. They are more than content with us having to run all over the map to check guild stores.

No... try to get every information together in the free market your own. Can't just go at some place and find everything at every time. You need always effort to get the best deal for you.

And even this wasn't free market and capitalism... who cares!
