Trunks, wardrobes and desks offer a regular recipe yield, and I have most luck in bank and bar - but this could only be due to the regular use of the facilities. Only use the lvl 1-5 recipes if you're* desperate to ditch surplus and clear an inventory slot. Also, ask in local/guild chat - I've given away quite a few duplicates at no cost.

If you're serious about Provisioning, then I recommend the Addon ESO Master Recipe List and Sous Chef. Pointing over every ingredient will show you which recipes you have for it, and pointing over recipes indicates whether it is known and by which characters... As well as listing your known/unknown recipes away cooking fires (particularly helpful in guild trader).

Put a point in the Legerman fence skill, if you find that you often run to max launders.

I've always chosen writs in equipment rather than consumables, and I still level the Provision skill fast.

I am not exactly sure if a color of recipe (green vs. blue for instance) matters to what "level" the recipe is, but I can tell you that for the Ebonheart Pact I found multiple blues and even a purple in Davon's watch which is one of the first zones you unlock for EP... Good luck!

Try to buy the recipes and ingredients cheaply from guild traders. You don't need blue or purple recipes to lvl provisioning faster, you just need green recipes of all levels and lots of materials.

Yeah it is not as fun as running around, looting and shooting - but if you want to lvl up fast, that is the fastest way.

Recipes drop most frequently in furniture like wardrobes and trunks, while food most often drops in barrels and crates. Go to starter areas such as Vulkhel Guard, Glenumbra or Stonefalls - around docks and ships.... there should be plenty there.

If you can get to Craglorn head over to the guild trader booth for Merchants west of town. I personally have 20+ recipes for sale there. Green drinks for 200g and foods for 300g. Blues for 1k each. All regardless of level. I put new recipes up for sale there for the same prices every other day so you have a good chance of finding what you need.

I've come to the conclusion that Carrot Soup must've been removed from the game without warning sometime. I've been trying to get it for ages on 6 different characters by searching houses, backpacks, everything in the low level zones. Haven't seen it up for sale at any guild trader I've been to either

I had to edit this post, sorry guys. I just read another post about no offering/trading on these forums.

Pretty sure you can trade or give away things, you just can't try and profit from it.

Is that right about the carrot soup recipe? That's the one I've been chasing since day one and now with over a hundred recipes later I still haven't found it .I don't want to give up on it on principal but maybe I won't have a choice. It would be great if someone could state definitively if it has been removed .

It's what I feel has happened, it's by no means the truth. It may just be that the carrot soup recipe is actually the rarest recipe in the game.

Did you find it recently? I suppose I will just have to keep looking but it's become a standing joke in my guild ( afterlife ) every body is saying just abandon it until you get a different one but I hate giving up on anything. I got a few golden lagers sent to me from a fellow guild member ( I haven't found the recipe for this either ) it's a real pain in the *** that this was one of the first writs to do . I now have provisioning maxed out and still haven't completed what is supposed to be an introductory writ .

Not recently, if I recall correctly, I got it from a low level writ on a low level character.

Most writ recipes tend to sell VERY fast. I have been looking for Fishy Sticks for quite some time. Patience and Advil when dealing with guild kiosks...

I have picked up several of the needed writ recipes in the last few weeks as writ rewards. All seven of my alts know all the writ recipes already. I'm sure I sold Carrot Soup, Fishy Sticks and a couple of others in Guild Stores recently. They do go quick, even if over priced. :o My guild's kiosks happen to be in Mournhold and Windhelm, but there are kiosks everywhere.

There are 7 in each Factions Capital City, and 5 in each of the Main Cities in the other 4 zones in each faction. In addition there are single kiosks scattered about in random places and on starter islands. So keep hunting. They're out there.

yes, lvl 1 recipes are found on noob island : Khenarti, Stros/Betnikh and BleackRock/Bal Foyen

lvl1 needed for writs : (see other topics or post to know which one for what faction)
food : chicken breast, fishy stick, banana surprise, grape preserve, carrot soup, roast corn, baked potatoes, baked apples
drinks : Brown nut ale, red rye beer, golden lager,

And no, they are neither rare or removed from the game.

Ah of course! I didn't think about going back to noob island, I've skipped them on most of my other characters.

Edit: found it! Just spent about an hour running around Stros and pulled it out of a backpack. Cheers Wanda
