^This. You don't even need to grind from vr14 - vr16. If you play in imperial city for like 5 hours you'll gain 2 vet levels just playing naturally.

Yes, but the old Craglorn grinds will help those who aren't VR14 yet. Grinding from VR1 to VR14 used to be very fast in Craglorn. Maybe with the increase to XP those grinds can be useful again.

Not hard to do considering if you were already VR14 you immediately got bumped up to VR15 and 1/4 upon entering the PTS. It won't be that way when it goes live.

i hope so too, they nerf'd the xp and it pretty much killed craglorn, aside from nirn harvesting obviously. I think they realized that though and this is them fixing a mistake. cause it turns out if you remove the incentive for people to go to a zone. . .they leave the zone.
    ESO player since beta.
    game got too disappointing.

No, the old Anomaly trains aren't coming back at this point.

I suspect most of the current players never experienced the original Anomaly grinds. I actually found the original Anomaly trains to be an interesting social dynamic. It encouraged large group competitive PvE play where only the top 12 contributors to defeating the boss received credit.

I remember the first week when Craglorn was released. Each Anomaly had two bosses that gave oodles of veteran rank XP and I received a purple item as a reward from nearly every treasure chest reward. The purple item drop rate was nerfed not long after Craglorn release and later on players no longer received XP from destroying the crystal. I wasn't trying to power level my first veteran character, but I found receiving so many purple weapons and armor pieces far too lucrative to stop and that character reached max level very quickly. At that time, the veteran PvE zones hadn't been nerfed yet so the Anomaly grinds were a far far easier way to level up and receive great gear.

Anomaly grinds were so popular it was common to see 2 more competing 12 person groups tying to out DPS the other group. I just don't see anything quite like it in open world PvE where large groups compete against each other anymore.

It looks like if you want to form large groups who compete against each other you need to go to IC where it's PvPvE.

I used to just pop in on a group (or two) while playing solo in Craglorn, those were the fun days.

I haven't seen another player at a Craglorn anomaly in months ...

Very sad how dead the Anomalies are now. Indeed, those were fun and exciting times with so many people buzzing around.

I grinded that Crag boss that summon's shades back in the day. Used to make the grind groups mad cause I would grind it out of group. Hey it's a free Tamriel.

I wonder if crag and quest xp buffs stack making upper crag dailies good xp grinds?

For me its less about getting to VR16 and more about CPs. So i hope grinding in Crag will help ease the pain of that. Along with IMP City, gaining CP should be easier, right?

XP in Crag only going up 20%. With Craglorn XP nerfed so hard since launch, an extra 20% is not going to make enough of a difference to bring back grinding in Craglorn. It is like your boss cutting your paycheck from $1000 to $200, then raising it to $240. You are still better off looking for a job that pays like $750 instead of thanking boss for that 20% "raise" to $240.

Especially with mobs needing to be within 3 VR of player to get full XP. So VR11 mobs will now only give 30% of current XP, which with the 20% buff will go up to 36%. Even with XP buff, VR11 mobs will give 64% less XP once you hit VR16 compared to right now at VR14.

VR13 will still give full XP, but Upper Crag is small and, as I said, XP in Crag is starting from such a pitiful place that I don't think the extra 20% will be anywhere near enough to matter. The quests in Upper Crag also give average XP, by quest standards. So a 50% boost will bring them more in line with Cyrodiil dailies. But Cyrodiil dailies will be boosted by 50%, too! So Cyrodiil dailies will still give better XP, and many of them are quite short and easy. And with most gankers off in Imperial City, it will likely be faster and easier than ever to do the Cyrodiil dailies.

So VR16 grinding for Champion Points is not likely to be worthwhile. As for grinding from VR1 to VR16? There are better grinding spots in Cadwell's Silver and Gold. If you don't want to do quests to open up Cadwell's Gold, Upper Crag may eventually be better than Cadwell's Silver once you reach VR10-ish. But by VR10, you should be strong enough to enter Imperial Sewers and get better XP from grinding Daedra. Getting ganked is more of a hassle if you are trying to hoard Tel Var stones. If just looking for XP, you can get ganked, respawn, and be back grinding Daedra very quickly.

Gotta give that one to you. He/she is the single most annoying, attention starved person on this entire forum.

Some people want to roll alts without replaying every faction yet again. Congrats on getting two levels, however really irrelevant
