i like the fact i have to go into a town and actually talk and socialize with people if i want to trade / look for a pvp group etc.
we have forums for text chat and it seems better to promote people to check out the forums to participate in votes like this one.
i really would like the game without text chat, but that is my opinion, thanks for letting me share it.

And yes I agree it has good points, but being clean, safe and not spammed is not one of them.
Those negative aspects (which are remedied by the ignore feature) are not enough of a reason to not have text chat, if that is what your are implying.

Actually restricting communication to only voice chat takes away a huge social aspect to the game. Text chat will only enhance socializing in this game. And it will allow more people to be socialable, such as the deaf and hard of hearing, people who either don't have a mic or are to nervous to use one. Or someone like me that just doesn't want to hear 30 people trying to talk at once.
More options in mmo's are always better. Restricing communication to voice only is harmful to the games success

you make an excellent point as to the hearing impaired, there are already devices on the market specifically for gaming and voice chatting that can even sync up with your hearing device which is pretty neat. in regards to the shyness, there is nothing to be shy about when you are behind a screen. roleplaying can help alleviate the shyness ( you dont necessarily have to be yourself in ESO).
i feel a chat system is not needed as the xbox one has a built in messaging, whenever i want to trade with people i send them a message if i really want to trade. it a direct link to the person and is faster and easier. making more chat interfaces causes more confusion in my opinion.
besides there would be multiple people talking in chat as well just like in voice chat, most people i hear talking wait before speaking until the other is done.

In text chat you can see the person name next to their message. In voice chat you cant. My b experiences with voice chat I can compare to a schools cafeteria during lunch. You hear a bunch of people talkin at once and it is difficult to know who is saying what. In text chat you see right away who said what and then could intimate a trade or group invite imediatelt.
It makes everything in the game much more fluid and gives another way for everyone to communicate much more efficiently with eachother. And the messaging system the Xbox xomes with is not Sufficientto what this game needs or requires. Text chat has proven it's worth and every single successful mmo both on console and pc, it is a no-brainer that it will be just as positive and benificial on eso.

i feel as though the xbox one messaging system works fine for me and lots of other people i talk to , if you press and hold start you can bring up their gamer tag and than you can message them. its very simple

I know how to use the system. Text chat would make those type of interactions much more fluid and simple. Take a look at the PC's text chat. You don't need to open several menu's like in console. All you do is type "/r username then type message here" and send. It's all done, much faster much easier. Also you will have a zone chat that you will be able to communicate with the entire zone, something you can not do with the built in messaging system.
Have you guys never played mmo's before? Because having to go over the basics of how a text chat works is making me feel like I am teaching a kindergarten class or something.

No , they haven't.
Because every other major mmorpg on consoles has text chat , you can find many who say stupid things like "it's a console version , how can you expect text chat to work" etc.
They've never played the largest mmorpg's in the world on the console that have had text chat going back to the PS2 and since have kept it as an option.

TL;DR: Roleplaying is inexistent due to lack of text chat. Chatting with more than one guild is very, very difficult. Planning anything with more than one guild is also very difficult. We need text chat.
