The rotation and DPS quoting in group is everything! Stopping yourself from dieing is meaningless because death stops the DPS timer and leaves it intact for quoting after you get get rezed.

Pretty sure most magicka builds wave crushing shock with medium attack.

Force Pulse actually is higher DPS.

not since EQ have i found people that care. since i tank, i would say that i do have the bigger responsibility to stop it, but that doesn't justify the now even lazier DPS from doing it too. too often its because of those stupid DPS meters- they focus on that more than the objective. dead men tell no tales for a reason, but if they interrupt they have to stop DPSing... i will also say, that i have told people to NOT interrupt on some fights that "required" it, because it was just much more easier to DPS the target down than *** time on focusing on their interrupt timing.
I will work. I will save. I will sacrifice. I will endure. I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the whole issue of the struggle depended on me alone.

Half the time I don't have the stamina, but when I can I do. I also use crushing shock (for now) so that helps. It really depends on the players. I remember I was tanking a boss and the DPS were ignoring the healers who kept healing the boss to max. When I told them to kill the adds, or at least interrupt them, they said it was the tanks job. PUGs are very hit or miss.

That's definitely a case of DPS not knowing what they're supposed to be doing... Sheesh...

Heh, that shouldn't really be the healer's job (DPS should be taking out enemy healers), but I like your moxy!

Once again, PUGs are very hit or miss! I do 3 gold key VR12+ pledges each day (more or less) and at least 1 run goes horribly due to either inexperience (I'm happy to explain fights ingame or via TS), horrible setups (no, you shouldn't be using heavy armour on your caster who is using really random spells) or players not really knowing how to play (not inexperience so much as I do x and I'm not helping with anything else, because it's not my job). Recently, In Elden Hollow, I was tanking for a group who had awesome DPS, but on the first boss (The Daedroth) they completely ignored the adds which feared, healed and generally make a muck of the fight. In the end the healer and DPS died due to being feared while the Daedroth spewed fire everywhere and things got interesting. They had the audacity to blame me, as the tank, for not positioning the Daedroth in such a way as to avoid the fire.. when they were all running around circling the boss.

I headdesk a lot these days.

I blame the nerfing of veteran zones some time ago. With how difficult it originally was, that place taught you to bash with the best of them (either that or you didn't make it through).

Think a lot of this. You no longer have to bash to interrupt when doing solo PvE, can just melt the mender with a couple of Steel Tornados. Before all the big nerfs to content and buffs to players, you just couldn't kill certain things, unless you stopped the healing. So people learned how to bash automatically.

Also why there's 100 threads about people having problems with the quest boss Cassia Varo in Malabal Tor. It's possibly the only quest encounter left where you have to be quick with a bash. But no one knows how to do it so they're really upset about a "broken" boss :dizzy:

Dungeons aren't much better. Can also melt down everything without bashing, if the dps is decent. Healer NPC's cant out-heal player dps these days.

Only thing still needs bashing is a few things in VDSA, but tank usually takes care of that. Not sure about trials, I haven't dont them in in god knows how long.
