For upgrade of my v16 weapons and armor from white to yellow will it require 150 tempers each?

Why would it take 150 tempers? The thread that you linked is about the amount of refined material needed to craft the items (unless I missed something in there, as I think I've only read the first page or two of the thread, and it was a few days ago that I last checked that particular thread). The amount of material required to craft an item has never had any bearing on the amount of tempers required to upgrade it - the only factor in that equation is the number of skill points you've got in the appropriate improvement skill.

For each item (with max skill points) if you want a 100% chance at each stage it should take 2 green, 3 blue, I don't remember how many purple (4? 5?), and 8 gold.

Doubt very much it'll be 150 tempers each. Every current armour piece at VR14 takes around 14 pieces of material to make, but only 2,3,4,8 tempers with all passives. The fact that it's same for every armour piece from level 1 to VR14 would indicate it'll be the same for VR16 too. Unless ZOS provide new passives too for temper reduction, which isn't in current PTS

I guess I'm confused as to why you would even think of a question like that... It would be completely contrary to the way all crafting upgrades work to have a different number of tempers required for the new VR15 & VR16 items.

The question should be is it worth the cost of upgrading your gear to VR16 if in 3 months they do away with VR's and you have the same gear even if you haven't upgraded!

If @ZOS was going to increase the cost of tempers as well for these V16 items to 10 X the original amount, NO ONE WOULD UPGRADE THEM. Seriously, who is going to pay 600K + just for the legendary tempers alone required for it. You would be close to 1 Million in gold to upgrade 1 heavy item to legendary which would be completely outrageous.

It will vary character to character, but if we assume 10 pieces of equipment to upgrade per character (7 armor pieces, a 2 handed skill bar and a one handed skill bar)

    80 gold tempers
    40 purple tempers
    30 blue tempers
    20 green tempers

For a total of 170 tempers per character. It will be a bit less if both your skill bars use 2 handed weapons, and a bit more if both your skill bars use 1 handed weapons.

Now as was mentioned earlier, if you're talking about the creation of V16 gear, that will require about 150 refined mats per item.

Hmm, I've never bought legendary tempers before (I get all of mine from refining mats), are you saying they generally go for 7500 each? Good to know :)

The topic OP linked confirms only the number of refined materials to create white piece of gear.

If ZOS would go for such stupid and *** idea, 150 tempers, people on PTS would already find out about it and make uproar on forums.

No. It's not shameful, because there's very few VR16 items in circulation on the test server. What nearly everyone on PTS knows is the VR16 items cost a lot of materials to produce. That's Colossus Ingots, Harvester Silk, Daedra Skin, or Sanded Ruddy Ash. It costs 150 Colossus ingots to make a sword. Or something close to that.

I've seen nothing that suggests that Colossus weapons have a lower than normal upgrade probability, and given the relative availability of upgrade materials, there wouldn't be much point to slapping that multiplier on the upgrade probabilities. Plus, it would just be annoying to have to sit there and click the + button 79 times.

So, unless you have something more than just, "well I misread that thread over there" I seriously doubt this is the case. It just doesn't make sense.

no, thats not true, all anyone would have to do is just put the v16 weapon or armor into the "upgrade" slot and look at the temper amount needed. i dont have the time to downlaod the entire PTS that would take atleast 12 - 15 hrs.
so instead im just asking what the amount needed is.

On the NA PC server they are selling for at a low of 4.5k and up to 7k at times.

I think you allready have an answer but don't want to accept it.

    Mats 150 for V16 = YES
    Tempers = NO

That is - based on the current version. If they change nr of tempers, they would have told us. There is no indication what so ever to think they are increasing nr of tempers needed, especially not to a ridiculous 150.

IF they would ever consider doing this, that WOULD be a stupid decision but I would assume they would at least give us a heads up on this.
