"It's going to take skill to beat this RNG stuff!"
    Rest in Peace:
    The Dragonknight
    2014-2025

This commemoration is for the class that has constantly been plundered and dismantled by designers for no obvious reason while other classes continue to have coherent skill lines and feel both powerful and cool.

I've shared my thoughts with ZoS plenty of this, so not much I can add. I think some penalty can be a good thing, but I think the 100% is too much and they need to set up a tiered system of return where you can stack heavy armor 5pc, sword/shield passive, block enchants. etc. to build up to at least a 50% return on stam while blocking - allowing someone to build for a tank and meaning they won't get the same benefits if they use diff enchants, armor or weapons.

This move did seem to come out of left field IMO, though I know they've always talked about addressing block casting, this seems more than that. So many of their other 'nerfs' come in small amounts like the bolt escape (which is getting it's second nerf) and dodge roll - both of which had a huge out pour of complaints about them, but blocking - not so much. Yes, some perma-blocking complaints have popped up, but not near the amount and with every class getting a CC that goes through block (NBs have 2 now with Agony change I believe- one of them an AoE) it seems unnecessary at this point to grind it into the ground.

I think my biggest two issues with it are 1. Latency is going to make active blocking impossible in pvp a good portion of the time. and 2. It limits the types of builds that will make good heavy/blocking builds (this game already has a narrow amount of solid builds at the high end) and punishes some classes more than others.

ZOS said they wanted more active blocking in PvE. This was the justification for eliminating stamina regen while blocking. Yet they designed the content so that perma-blocking is necessary for certain high end endgame content. Because of this tank builds are now focusing on gimpy builds to return stamina via other means. NB tanks will be siphoning. DK tank will wear Warlock and/or Magnus to spam earthen heart, focusing mana regen and reduced mana cost. Templars will be reliant on others to upkeep stam. Is this really the goal of 2.1? The change they want will never happen unless they change the content or other mechanics. They are just requiring tanks to make weird builds that have to focus on producing stamina so they can perma-block for the endgame content that requires it.

Sure if you have the best DPS in the game you can tank through the content fast enough that the stamina might not be a big issue. Most tanks like myself need a build that can sustain and not have a time limit. I tank with the best DPS but I also tank for training runs and pugs that may need me to sustain for 2-3x the "elite" time frame, or longer. If I want to sustain my stamina I need to throw out the histbark and footman and pickup gear that lets me spam stamina producing skills. All we're doing are sacrificing our defense so that we can sustain. Plus we have to focus most of our gameplay on managing our resources. Forget being the one that watches the group and directs the battle. Instead you taunt just enough that your resources can handle (which will be a balancing act), then start playing the resource mini-game while everyone else fights.

When will ZOS recognize this and do something about it? At this state I'm irritated with tanking and think I will put down my PvE tank until they somehow address this dumb change. I've said before I don't mind a compromise if they want to simply make things harder and more engaging. At this state tanking is a gimpy, micromanaging affair. It's less fun for me and disengaging from the actual fight. If I want to play a gimpy build I'll just dps or heal. At least then I can focus on what's going on and not just managing resource bars in a Seducer set.

Again I say that they allow 50% stam regen in a full set of heavy. This is still a heavy nerf to stamina for blocking and limits the blocking dps builds. This would be better than just eliminating the whole stamina regen stat for end game tanks.

Go to the PTS and post in the feedback section. ZOS appears to be ignoring any feedback regarding this issue on the forums and if their track record holds true will continue to ignore any feedback regarding this issue on the forums. It also appears they are attempting to stamp out any threads on this issue if they gain too much attention. You want your voice heard on the matter than post feedback on the PTS where there will be a greater likelihood of someone reading it instead of the zero chance it has currently on the forums.
